Love letter to the forumheads 25/4/20

Hope life's good for you forumheads. It's been a while (years) since I've visited this part of the web but thought I'd leave a little post just to say how much I miss the old days, talking shit and breaking the chat room. The OGs that are still in my social network are family folks now with their own little groms, including myself.

To think about it, it would've been early year 7 when I first heard of Sk8parx.com - signed up, and I was hooked. Shit, that was probably around 2001? Fucking 19 years ago!

I often think back on the amazing years, friendships and how much the forums have given folks from all walks of life a platform to express themselves AND occasionally go skate together in the real world!

Biggest highlight for me would have to be the few years of the "Globe World Cup" competiton in Melbourne that we all attended. It was the skateboarder's pilgramage and it was dope hearing of international pros rocking up to spots, cruising around the city with new/online forum friends and getting kicked out everywhere - including the infamous late night police shut down of Flinders with 100s of skaters scrambling away in every direction from the cops. Fuck that was amazing. The competition itself wasn't even the main event - everything else in between made it what it was and I'm sure holds a special place in your memories and hearts. We even had an unofficial forumheads section featuring Drew himself!

Anyway homies, thanks for reading! I finished up doing my invoices and was just reminiscing on the good times. It's hard to skate nowadays with a toddler but soon I'll get to take him to the skatepark and teach him that scooters are fucking lame.

Not sure when I'll check this again BUT if you happen to stumble on this post (bored after Pornhub?), log in for once more and share your feelings. No homo.

Peace and love

I remember you!! I randomly logged in too and bumped the first thread I found with an apology for my shitty behaviour over the years. I got so much out of this forum when I was a wee tacker and made some good friends that I still have today.

Ahhh those Melbourne GWC’s. So true that the comp wasn’t the main attraction. Walking around and introducing yourself and then having to tell them your username before they clicked who you were. Great times. Like best. Loved it. Miss you all. Stay cool friends
