Just heard that somebody graffed the whole park and vandalised a bobcat. Apparently they need to repaint surfaces now. Sucks. It will probably be perceived by the public as skateboarders who did it, which is also sucks.
Is it open yet? Im due to come home next week and am hoping i can roll on it while I'm home.
It's open, went there a few days ago, whoever designed it needs to be drawn and quartered. That huge death pit full of pointy rocks has to be the stupidest fucking idea in the history of man kind. I give it 2 months before they are carted away and it's turfed like it always should have been.
Drove past yesterday afternoon (Sat 8th June) and it is still the same - fences up and a security guy looking bored sitting under the shelter watching it so no one else has fun there. I saw the little bit of white graf on a few areas of the park, that Alex mentioned too.
There is still a lot of landscaping to be done round it - fuck knows why they don't just turf the lot, rather than putting in pretty gardens and whatever else is planned.
Sussed it this morning, it looks finished. Turf down, gym equipment, plants. Fences are still up though with a security man hanging. Fingers crossed open by the weekend.
Just happened to be passing yesterday morning and fences are down round the skatepark area so I had a bit of a leg stretch roll with no one else around. Council workers or guys with high pressure cleaners turned up about 8am to maybe clean off the graff but I was done by then anyway.
Probably going to be hectic with all the local scooter kids or others trying to use it in normal afternoon hours and weekends though.
