i'm not against desalination or recycling water.

paper and shit is recycled. heaps of other countries use that technology and they don't have water issues. if people are gunna keep whinging about having no water its time they openned their mind to these alternatives cos i'm sick of their whinging

i think i made that one up. I'm an academic - i have a license to make up new words (makes note to self to go and find potential avatar). Strange that when I changed computers that my pic dissappeared. I woulda thought that once I uploaded it onto here then it wouldn't be afected by that

or we could create mega industrial strength freezers and freeze water on mass then use it like ice blocks to cool the planet down - the elctricity consumption might be an issue but it should work...shouldn't it?

Yeah, or if that doesn't work, we could fashion the ice blocks into a very tall, large silo type structure, and fill them up with water from the sea, thus limiting the potential for the sea levels to rise.
