How many days of the year do you spend on holiday?
This year I've worked 6 months and travelled 2 but the last year was a bit better. I think it was like 5 months working 6 months travel
You just got back from couch surfing across New Zealand, how was that?
Yeah it was rad! Couch surfing makes it possible to experience what it's really like to live there instead of just staying at a hotel and not meeting the locals. The best thing is that it's free!

So you love ice cream and want to go to Ethiopia. Are you going to bring ice cream to starving Africans like some kind of Mother Teresa Mr Whippy?
Haha yeah I think that's a really good idea! It’s so hot in Africa so they would really enjoy the cold ice cream. It also has a lot of fat in it so it will kind of help them out. I've never seen a kid that's upset when he is holding ice cream but if he drops it that's another story.
How's filming for Gooch 3d going? I hear you're pulling a Spanky and only skating banks now?
Yeah filming for Gooch is going pretty well, hopefully its out by the end of the year. Haha nah you have it all wrong, I’m going for more the Rowley look and only skating ditches. It’s fun and I don’t wake up the next day and feel like I’ve been beaten up. I’ve embarrassed myself enough already being washed up, I’m just going with the flow haha
Is there time for a third china trip before the vid comes out?
I think Tony wants to go back. It’s so cheap and the spots are so good that it would probably be worth it. Everyone is going on a Tassie trip soon so that will be sick
You designed a board for Folklore a while ago, is there anything else in the works?
Yeah I did, I was really happy with it. Probably the best thing I’ll ever do with my skating career haha. I'm not too sure I still do lots of art but I've never really taken it seriously, maybe I could ask Steady Bumpen if they would like to do something?
That's like proposing at the Superbowl! What if they reject you in front of the whole sk8parx community?
Haha I would probably cry.
What do you think about the guy that painted Rutledge Lane baby blue?

That dude is a kinda wack haha... He just wanted the fame and to piss people off I think, which it really worked. It’s like when you go to an art gallery and some retard try’s to tell you that a canvas that’s been splashed with paint represents all these emotions and such, but you know that it’s just a pile of shit… But yeah, that guy stinks of doo-doo.
I think it’s nice to see something different ever now and again and hilarious when graff lords cry that their epic burner gets pained over. That shits not supposed to be permanent by definition right?
It’s not meant to be permanent, but when something’s there for 10 years then you should probably leave it. But you’re right it is part of the game.
Kind of like when a skate spot you find or make blows up and it takes away what made it interesting in the first place?
Yeah that’s true! So when are we starting our band? I don’t want to have to make up an imaginary band in my head like Chris Cole.
Bass, drums, all funk no rhythm, sounds like a winner to me! We can open up for your boss's band at Frankston shows!

Do you think you could survive a Thrasher 'Skate Rock' tour? The last one was pretty cringe worthy at times
Haha I think I would shot myself in the head if I had to go on tour with Phelps, that guy makes me hate skateboarders. Plus I can’t afford to break guitars on stage like he does. Yeah I couldn't survive; I barely survived the Melbourne one.
Better be careful what you say, you could get banned from thrasher before you're even in it!
Something people might not know about you is that you're a published photographer in Transworld
Haha yeah that’s true, but I think I’m too washed up to be in Thrasher.
Yeah I’m a payed photographer! Haha I got a $100 to take a photo of Frankston park a few years ago, it was published in Transworld as a poster of the greatest skate parks of the world! I was like ‘I’m quitting skating and now, I’m going to be a photographer.’ That’s the life! Drinking beers while other people huck themselves down rails sounds pretty good to me, so I brought a camera and yeah, didn’t turn out how I planed it.
Wait till you’re washed up before you commit to that. You think you get angry when you can't land something, wait till you fuck up a photo of a trick someone has been trying for 2 hours
Do you think you throw less tantrums now you've quit eating McDonalds?
I used to tell people it made you bipolar
Haha yeah I think I throw less tantrums now coz I don’t have that teen angst as much as I did when I was younger. I do think cutting McDonalds out of my life has played a large part to my recovery or maybe Ben Currie’s just getting frustrated enough for the both of us. He gets pretty fired up at times and he loves McDonalds. Shit, we have found the cure of anger!
I don't think it's a cure as such; you did smash up a perfectly innocent rubbish bin not long ago
Yeah I did smash a rubbish bin up, but you had a big part in that happening don't you think?

Are you going to be in Canada snowboarding when Gooch 3 premieres?
Most likely. I was thinking of that today, I’ll be really bummed that I won’t be there for it. But maybe I’ll send over some footage of me doing a sweet 1080 for my ender. Do you think that would look good?
Well t-bags is sponno'd by a snowboarding company so he can't kick you off for it.
Wouldn't do wonders for your street cred though
That’s true he loves filming snowboarding so it wouldn’t take 5 months for the clip to come out. I should ask him for a snowboard! Yeah my street cred went out in 2004 when I was sponsored by snapper head surf shop.

I don’t think they do. I usually say it’s because I’m happy and then I just snap in to a monster, sounds way cooler haha. Brett Jordan gave me that nick name bagging me, that’s where it came from.
Will you drop the nickname when you make it big in Street League?
Nah I’d still rock it. I wouldn't be riding for monster though.
Even though you could feed 1000 Africans for a year with the pay check?
Yeah but I think when you get that famous and rich you become selfish and a piece of shit. That's why none of them do anything really.
Do you think skateboarding is heading for a great depression?
Yeah it will happen again, just like it did in the 90s; gets supper commercial and lame, then the big company's bail it goes back to being under ground and cool again. I hope it happens then the core brands can hopefully stick around and earn what they deserve.
