Favorite/best custom insoles?

About 6 months ago I got a pair of Hi Profile King Foam Jaws insoles from Footprint, and after wearing these I can say I will never wear a pair of shoes without some sort of third party insoles in them again. NEVER got any sort of heel/foot bruise. Now they're worn away and have a dent forever in them, so I'm looking for anther pair.
Looking at Footprint in particular, they have 3 or 4 fancy terms they name each sort of insole with. "King Foam" "Gamechangers" etc, so I get a bit confused what they're trying to advertise.

The arch in my foot isn't the best and I should probably be wearing some sort of orthotic.
I remember seeing a video about oven insoles where when heated they mold to your foot. Also ones you add water to through a slit, and again it molds to your foot.
Mind you, all this talk about Footprint being good. They once ripped me off roughly $70 when I bought directly from their website, never received them. Even after consistently chasing up on it with a reference number, they eventually just started ignoring my message. But then I bought another pair from somewhere more locally in Australia and it was fine.

Anyway, what would you recommend be the best insole? Footprint or not.
and does anyone know the difference between "Gamechangers" and all those terms?

Cheers

Honestly I've been big on innersoles for a good 2 years. Before the crazy ones I used to double up my soles.
Lately, every single skate brand shoes I've got come with a good innersole. Save your penny's there's no difference between any of them it turns into a mind game.

Firstly... always buy local!

Secondly, Footprint insoles are the way to go, most of the other ones we've seen have been shit compared to Footprint... but the point I'd like to make and it kinda comes off what kristian has just said, look at who rides for Footprint and their shoe sponsors.
It kinda makes sense as to why they would ride for an insole company when their respective shoe sponsors are known for not having the best insoles, for example; Lakai & Fallen.
You will also notice that no one who rides for Converse, Nike, Adidas, Vans and maybe DC? have riders riding for the likes of footprint, as those brands of shoes have innersoles on par with these companies.

As you said Shaka, the insoles don't last forever and they shouldnt anyway, footrot is a terrible thing!

do they really make a difference? i've been considering giving them a whirl

Cheers for the input guys.

Honestly, in my opinion, I think they work great. They're comfy, a tad bouncy, and after 30 minutes you won't even notice they're there.
I was just sick to death of getting heel bruise and being paranoid about making it worst. But ever since wearing these Footprint insoles I've had absolutely zero heel bruises, or bruises on the bottom of my foot whatsoever.

and just to add on to what you said imge_; I got these insoles when I had a pair of Janoski. Because even though they do have fairly alright stock insoles, after a bit they do wear down. Compared to a third party insole, which will last you a good 3 pair of shoes.

Oh and kristianwild, what insole are/have you been rocking? Any with arch support?

Good to hear they work, didn't think anything would be a whole level above zooms or lunarlon. New vans inners are a step up too.

I ride for footprint because jaws told me they worked. Haha i hit him up and asked and he promised me they made a difference so i bought some online and tried them and theyre amazing. And imgne the reason no one who rides for those shoe companies ride for footprint is because they wont let the riders do it because they say it reflects badly on the shoe company.

i always go for extra impact protection over board feel when i buy shoes, but i also need the extra insole protection as well.

at the moment i'm riding the etcetera insoles (ronnie creager's brand).
they've got extra gel cushions around the ball and heel, with a plastic pad to protect from primos. i'm assuming similar brands would be good as well.

for $30 they're good value - i figure you only really buy them once (or once every couple years depending on how grot you're willing to let your skate shoes get).

the guy who owns skaterHQ in manly has a machine in his warehouse to mould custom insoles to your feet, but it's more expensive.

i've noticed globe usually have really good insoles, but other brands it will depend on each individual shoe design.

Shaka - yeah my comment was more about the lunarlon insoles that nike/converse use, not they Janoski innersoles as they are rather thin in comparison to FP.

Cheers for clearing that up Dane, that makes a lot more sense when one of Nike/Converse's main selling points is the lunar innersole tech, so yeah it would look a bit suss if one of their riders where to ride for a seperate innersole company...

Etcetera insoles are good too, I've use a couple of sets in the past, just prefered the feeling of FP when I used them, the good thing is each company seems to be doing they're own thing instead of copying each other which is rad to see.

I however have heard bad things about Remind Insoles, not just from the lizard king Free Lunch interview, but from others who have tried them also.

They do surprisingly work well!
FP are the best ones I reckon and I enjoy a bit of arch support too.
Dane knows what's up.

that free lunch is hilarious. I got the fp orthotic insoles and they were worth it, but I put them in lakai's which had an awful insole. Can't say what difference, if any they'd make over lunarlon's. the fp gamechangers are the ones you heat up and they mould to your feet. I want to give them a try.
