Vans Park Series is hitting Brazil this weekend and we got Jack Fardell and Keegan Saunders flying the ozi flag, so either set your alarm clock or have a few drinks and be prepared to shout at your computer from 1am Sunday morning. Vans were good enough to also upgrade the Costiera Park just for the event. Full media release below.
Los Angeles, CALIF. (June 6, 2016) – The race to Malmö continues as the Vans Pro Skate Park Series, skateboarding’s first-ever world championship park terrain point series, advances to the beautiful locale of Florianópolis, Brazil for the second Global Qualifier event on Saturday, June 11. The high-stakes competition will challenge the world’s best skateboarders to earn valuable qualification points in pursuit of competing in the Vans Park Series World Championships finale, sanctioned by the International Skateboarding Federation as the definitive first-ever park terrain crowning event, to be held in Sweden this August.
The new global qualifier Challenger rankings have determined 16-year-old Cory Juneau as the highest scoring Challenger to date, placing him in the running for one of five coveted spots to compete against the exclusive Park Series Select Pros in the World Championships. Joining the field in Brazil for their first appearance on the tour and expected to up the ante are Select Pros Grant Taylor, Jack Fardell and Collin Provost.

With over 5,000 square feet of concrete paradise, the Brazil Global Qualifier will be held at Costeira Skatepark, featuring a newly remodeled bowl and snakerun focus to guarantee new flow lines and unexpected maneuvers for Saturday’s live event.
The top five Challengers to emerge from the Mens Park Series Global Qualifier system will challenge the fifteen exclusive Park Series Select Pros in Malmö, Sweden for the inaugural International Skateboard Federation-sanctioned park terrain Vans Park Series World Championships.
