> ADRIAN JONES 50 YEARS OF AUSTRALIAN SKATEBOARDING
Australian skateboarding royalty and inductee of the Dogtown and Z-Boys crew for epitomising the spirit of Jay Adams, Mr Adrian Jones joins myself and Bondi skateboarding legend Ti Coleing this week in the studio.
Adrian shares about his 50 years of skateboarding, from doing Bert Slides at the Boat Ramp in Sydney Harbour, founding the scene at the iconic Pymble Pool, becoming one of the first ever professional Australian skateboarders, competing in the master division at Bondi Bowlarama along side his childhood heros such as Steve Caballero and Tony Hawk.
We play clips of Adrian and friends skating the Manly Skate City ramp, Rydalmere Half-pipe and Hulley's ramp. And when I say friends, I mean the likes of Biff Murdoch, Wedge Francis and even a young Mick Mulhall. We have loads of never before seen images taken by iconic photographers David Mock and David Pang also.
This episode is a deep dive into what is now a rich history of Australian skateboarding, with literally one of its founders.
Enjoy,
Shan
