FEBRUARY PHOTO COMP

Ryan Allan also took the job of deciding this months theme for the photo comp.

"How about "Rule of Thirds" for the next comp?"

--------

Some new guidelines for this months photo comp.

- Shoot For The Comp - dont dig out old photos to enter, the idea is to go out and shoot for the comp, show the best you can do when given a theme to work with.

- Four Entries Max - use the misc photos thread to get some feedback, or post links to edits in this thread, get some feedback, think about what you are posting and make them the best they can be! go re-shoot if you realised you could have done something better. post one photo per week if you want to enter more than one. instead of posting a sessions worth, post the best one.

Deadline is once again the last day of the month.
feb is a shorter one! so get shooting.

throw up some links to inspiration photos, or old photos you've shot, we'll try to only post photos in the thread that are entries, so that it doesn't get confusing!

LETS GO!

'Rule of thirds' is that like when he whole image is square or some shit

Generally its when you'd place the main object on an intersection of thirds, like you split the photo into thirds horizontally and vertically then where the lines meet would be in intersection..but I guess it can also mean just having the object one third from the edge or top...whatever you decide. That's how I've thought of it anyway..

I understand it more now, was thinking back to when I did art in school as to the whole square shit, but for the rest of us noobs out there wondering what it means, pretty sure these guys nailed it when it comes to what it means in wheelieboard photography

sorry to double post and all that shit but i just realised i had the luminance in the noise reduction turned upto 100% in lightroom for no apparent reason. if anyone has a problem just accept the first as my entry.

thanks

I liked the original better, something about the softness is very...soothing? Sounds weird but I'll stick with it
