How old are you and where are you from?

Im 16 years old and from Geelong.

You lived in Geelong your whole life?

Weve moved two or three times but apart from that its always been back to Geelong.

Do you ever find youre comparing yourself or following other skaters your age, ie. Nyjah?

Nah I just skate for something to do during the week and all my friends skate so, yeah not really following anyone.

Backs Heel - Moey

Cool. Who do you skate with in Geelong?

I skate with Hugh (Gilbert) and Jack (Crook) a little bit and I normally skate with like, Adam, Christian, Alex and Dean. Not too many people during the week but on the weekend everyone seems to come out. Sometimes Aiden when he gets out of bed.

Now that Jack and Hugh are living in Melbourne again are you gonna come into the city more?

Yeah I wanna come into the city more. Geelong gets a bit too boring during the week and theres not enough to do n stuff. Definitely wanna go skating more.

When did you stop going to school? What do you do during the week?

I stopped going to school in year 7 and just did home schooling until year 9 and then I just stopped doing it after that and just chilled. I dunno, normally just skate during the week and hang out with friends. I go to the gym in my spare time and on the weekend I work at the skate shop. Geelong Skate Shop good ole Mr. Peacocks the boss.

Sick. How come you stopped going to school?

I dunno, I just never really liked going to school, but I suppose no one does. I used to go to a real posh school in Drysdale - I went there for a year and had to catch an hour bus everyday there and back. I talked to mum and she said I could do home schooling so it was pretty sweet.

What happens in home school?

Pretty much just wake up at the normal time for school and have all your books out ready and you can pretty much finish a day of study in like an hour and a half if you want. You dont have to worry about teachers talking or any other students. Just bust out two hours in the morning and do what ever you want for the rest of the day.

Sounds good as. Would that affect your social life at all? You know, you meet a lot of friends thru school..

Nah not really, all through primary school I never hanged out with my school friends. Id just hang with my other friends, skaters. Pretty much who I hang out with now Ive never gone to school with any of them. We just know each other from skating.

Whos hooking you up these days?

Zoo York, Independent, Hifi Wheels, Geelong Skate Shop and Nike flow.

Backsmith Biggie - Moey

You got a sponno tape?

Yeah Ive made a few sponno tapes in my time, ha-ha. Actually the other day I was with some non skater friends chillin at mine and they found my old sponno tapes from when I was age 10/9 n shit. I was so bad.

What have you got on for this year? You gonna move to Melbourne or stay in Geelong or?

I dunno, for ages I wanted to move to QLD because I thought it would be cool, because it would be hot n stuff. That idea kinda just went down the drain. We used to go there every year but this year we bought a new house so just stayed in Geelong. At the moment Im pretty keen to just stay in Geelong and travel up to Melbourne when I can. Some times my mum drives me up but most times I just catch the train. $7 and it takes 40minutes on the train. Its pretty sick, faster than driving.

You got your learner licence?

Yeah I started doing heaps of hours but it gets too boring driving with your parents, ha-ha.

Have you been following Battle at the Berrics?

Nah but last night I was watching one of Shanes games and then I watched half of Nyjahs game, then my computer just went flat so just didnt worry about it.

Ive noticed these days people are setting the same tricks but doubling up the flips. Have you been learning that kind of stuff?

Yeah, if you watch number 3 and compare it to number 5 everything seems like its twice as high. I used to get into that kinda stuff but I now I just like the solid basics.

You have any plans to travel over seas? You been out of the country before?

Nah Ive never been before. I was meant to go this year actually but I was like nah, wait til Im a bit older. Might just save it for a year or two, when Im 18.

Crooks - Moey

I keep forgetting how young you are ha-ha. Does your age hold you back much? Getting into bars or whatever?

Nah I just use my mates ID and it seems to work everytime ha-ha, I suppose Ive been getting lucky with that.

How old are you on that ID?

22.. ha ha. Actually 21! Pretty sure I turn 22 in October.. Most of the people I go out with arent of age so its all good. I used to go to this pub called The Nash heaps and there were heaps of old people there so I kinda got over it then started going to this place called The Basement. Its so much fun its like a lounge but on the weekend it turns into a club sorta thing. It always has DJs and yeah.. Pretty good.

I heard Geelong night life can get a bit rowdy?

Yeah it gets pretty hectic. The other night we were out, we went to a 7/11 for a mate to buy ciggies and as we were walking to the club some random bald guy in a pink v-neck All these teenagers just started beating him up. There were that many people fighting him just punching and kicking him in the legs. Pretty full on. The cops came and no one got caught. No one ever gets caught for some reason everyone seems to get away. Its whack.

Gnarly. That happens on the regular??

Yeah, actually Ive got a funny story from later that night... We walked up to Maccas and some real buff guy had the security by the throat. The place was packed. The guy was dragging the security guard around Maccas calling him a fat cunt in this big crowd of people.

Ha-ha what?? How old was the guy?

Ah probably about 19. Then a cop came in with protective gloves and then some random guy came out of the McDonalds line and knew the cop and was like, Gday Jonno or whatever his name was then the cop just started talking to us, just chillin and didnt do anything and just left. And the guy was just out the front doing nothing, chillin.

Geelong is gnar.

But apart from all that its paradise, trust me.

Cab - Moey

Ha-ha. Ive only ever been to Geelong to shoot photos and skate but I know you guys have a really nice waterfront, heaps of yachts and stuff. Does your family own a boat? Ive never met anyone from Geelong that has a boat.

Yeah its pretty good. Nah, my mum and dad dont have anything to do with that. Ive never met anyone from Geelong thats had a yacht in my life. Weird.

Maybe you should get one?

I was thinking about it Instead of getting a car when I turn 18, just getting a yacht, and just fang around in it. Cos theres a whole bay around Geelong, youd just get place to place just like that.

Hahaha. You know how much a yacht costs and how to run one?

Ill figure that out one day Moey.

Good stuff. Anyone you want to thank? Shout outs n stuff?

Yeah I have a few people Id like to thank Joey, Middsy, Drew, Potty, Hugh, of course my man Moey, Mum, Dad, Sister and just all my friends that hang out. And my girl friend.
