> HELP!!! HELENSBURGH SKATEPARK
hi skaters,
A skatepark is prposed for Helensburgh, Sth of Sydney.
A group of local skaters has got together to develop the design.
We want to make sure its right and need your help to check it out and make comment.
The 3Ds of the design are on our site at;
www.Helensburghweb.info/skate
Check it out and contact us with your thoughts via the contact part of that site.
If you like the 3ds and need some done for your proposed park, they were done by Michael Laidler at:
fuzzymike2002@yahoo.com
Have your say so that when you come to skate the park it's worth skating!
good plans, looks nice. Could be good to put the two bowls next to each other so you could transfer. Also add in a wall ride at the top of one of those banks or maybe a ledge for a little variation.
Nice and simple, how a park should be.
Don't try and cramp too much shit in there.
Agreed on the bowl transfers though!!
hi YEAH WE'RE FROM THIRROUL SO WILL BE SKATIN THERE - IT LOOKS GOOD.

helensburgh=6 toes
sorry, had to make the joke
park looks awesome
lovin that ledge and the fun box
this gong skater is 100 percent behind you!!
Noice....
coupla suggestions...
The small bowl - I personally prefer to have a square bottom bowl - meaning you get 4 tighter corners instead of two large ones. The tight corners are excellent for gaining speed, and you get four of em rather than two.
The transitioned semi round thing on the flatbank to the right might not work. I've skated many similar setups, and found them that the line out of the obstical doesn't exist. Try a couple of options, although it sounds boring - a standard straight tranny (as the other side has) would work much better.
...I want to skate it.
Small corners are better for speed for sure..But also I really do think that it would be better to combine the 2 and have one bigger bowl....some good hips are a must as well...I would be right into a roll at the Burgh as Im in heathcote...would have to be better than the crap park at Engadine...
no council suppport, here...... park will be rough and shit, click on the link and send email telling council to hav convic make it and any tips ok, it will make it betta....
if local Council can't afford to use a professional skatepark builder then...
MAKE SURE THE CONCRETERS USE A JIG TO DO THE CURVES (the easiest way to make one is to get a 50 SHS rolled to the required radius curve (generally 2400mm or 8 feet)
Has Council allocated money? how much?
What meetings have they held for communtity input? (go down and hassle them if they haven't)
Ring them or better still write letters asking questions so they have to write back see the thread on "help us save Waterloo" for more ideas on geting action from Coucils
