ruckus anyone? lol

LEEDOG 10:37 05/Aug/08

I rode Thunders since they came out...
that was until I rode a set of Ace trucks. Nothing turns like them, nothing grinds like them, PERIOD!

I heard the bent axle thing wasn't really true, they just look bent because the hanger kinda bulges slightly up, the axle is straight. That might just be a cover up rumour though.

Hi Leedog

LEEDOG 10:48 05/Aug/08

The hanger's got a rocker, makes the optical illusion that the axle is bent. That's my take on it.
Hey Drew!

normEbadpantsIII 21:21 05/Aug/08

so BNE does that mean projects will distribute them throughout the land? and julien is riding for them?

after not skating at all for over 12 months and dreaming of just being able to roll around again the ace have given me much pleasure by just turning the way it was happening in my mind..

they look kinda 70's like something on the california arrow but they work..
I'm just getting back into a few grinds and it's working out sweet..I got the ace 44's...(traded some thunders I had sitting in waiting) because I'm riding an 8.5 big rig for the early skate rehab stability...I reckon the 33's on a straight 8 would be best

normEbadpantsIII 21:23 05/Aug/08

oh but the shoes that feel right.......vans old schools....

i love waffles

Rodos 09:28 21/Aug/08

one of the best trucks i ever rode were "standard" trucks, they were part of the nhs items and now i think they are krux trucks... they had great control and they grinded so nice...

gary oak 21:31 21/Aug/08

oh i'm glad i saw this thread

i'm buying some ace's

Cozmick Avenger 09:18 22/Aug/08

I got a friend to lathe down to 110mm some ACE '22' hangars for slalom. When he put one end of the axle in the chuck and turned the lathe on the far end of the axle was waving around due to slightly bent up axle.

They still work fine though. ACE bent axles are common.
Good on Tershey for trying to revisit (indy stage III) and repackage a proven design.

I'm Your Pusher Man 09:47 22/Aug/08

I reckon they are good.

I have a set of 44's.

They turn real tight. The king pin seems to over hang a bit... they kinda remind me a bit of Orion Trucks, the aluminum trucks that were around the late 90's, though maybe thinner again - not as brittle perhaps.

SkimTheFat 11:28 22/Aug/08

indys... heavy, poor turning... what?!
independent's are the best trucks i've ever had, even with my bushings all cracked and chipping they still turn good enough for me. I might replace 'em and they'll be even better.
I don't think anyone could convert me now, soo good.

Plus people who complain about weight are just bitches who need to fork out 100s of dollars on shitty dwindle gimmicks. What is it, like a few grams? I wouldn't want my board to be any lighter.
