I suggest we turn this thread from a R.I.P. Coxy thread into Coxy Rips thread.
So good hearing stories like that parliament 10 krooks on borrowed board etc.
I remember watching him goof off in the cbd of newcastle as a kid. Hed have like a bunch off office suits standing around him while he did mime-style actions where you move into a position, and freeze and then change position. Was the funniest shit ever. These dumb arsed suits (and yeh im one now too these days) thought it was a street act. Im surprised they werent hurling dollar bills at him. Then he gets up and almost stuck fs 360 the admin 9 (burly 9 stair on pebblecrete) for laughs.
Front blunt stoves blocks with rusty steele bolts sticking up out of the top? Another fine memory..
Also as far as im aware, he was the first person to conquer the infamous marble ledge in Newcastle. (again in his amnesia part)

The first time that trick was seen was in Gordo's video called: "Plebs". It was after the credits in slo-mo filmed off the TV, (that's how we rolled back then). Then again in LUC a few years later. The footage is from around 1993, so yeah Ben was ahead of his time. The funny thing was he didn't really care about that, he was just having fun.

I saw him skate in about 96 (?) perhaps on a tempory mini ramp in the park at newy when I visited there as a grommy.
Comes down to fitzy for a scralp on the fairly regular. Nice chap.

Did rob sands have a part / shared part on that by any chance? Theres this mystery vid I remember seeing at some house chonged out on the couach aages ago which had some stoves footage with Rob skating and Ben had some footage on it too. My very vague memory of this video was that it had some cheesy large almost 3d titles for each skater.. If not Plebs, has anyone got any idea what that vid was? Wonder what Rob is up to these days..
That Nowra footage was the shit. I just had a dig and couldn't find my copy of Plebs, must have lent it out years ago and not got it back. I did find some golden oldies though:
