cruiser advice

have been thinking of getting another set up for transportation and need some help.

have only ever skated your typical street/park setup with hard wheels etc. but think some soft wheels might be nice to roll around on when i need to get somewhere.

should i buy a complete cruiser setup?

should i just use a standard deck/trucks but with a soft wheel?

and what wheel hardness is the best 'all rounder'?

what do you ride?

I roll that exact setup FD except the Real Aces board I ride is the pointy fucker. Ace of Spades or whatever. 8.75 wide but tapered

Those wheels are great. Still good for bowls but equally good for rough streets

well.. can the the higgs boson will be able to make me a bloody mary?

thanks fair dinkum.. food for thought. keep em coming!!

Replace those Spitty's with some 65mm Rainskate Tsunami's in 85a. They'll roll over crappy surfaces and you can still carve up the park at speed. You may need a small riser.

i concur with mc surly about the rain skates. the ones i swapped with drew are going great. the bitumen is actually pretty rough and they use a lot of pavers in tokyo so i'm stoked with the bright orange softies. i'm not rockin risers so i do get wheel bite if i'm not a little careful. actually the front left has a wheel well about 3 ply sheets deep. no, brophy's custom shape cliche doesn't come with wheel wells.

Krooked Zig Zagger 8" + Ace 44 Trucks + Krooked Zip Zinger 65mm wheels = MOST BADASS CRUSIER EVER

Yeah I use the rainskates killer bees, and often skate part of the journey, and the extra width of the bees seem to smooth out some of the rougher surfaces a bit.

zig zaggers are huge over here for all the wanna look like a skater but can't actually skate brigade. saying that, morgs swears by his and they were designed by the gonz so i can't hold the fashion victim facet against em.
