Thanks Poga for getting this going... strength in numbers.
I worked hard to get this facility - weather you like it or not doesn't matter...it is important for the future of skateboarding in Tasmania to give support whenever and wherever you can. In this case my fellow Council employees are suggesting that the money given to Council as compensation for the skatepark should be put into Croquet and Patonk - seeing as they are such rad sports.
I think the money would be much better spent on a new park - to replace the one that is slated for demolition.... but we need to prove there is the suport and need for 'another skatepark'..... or you might all have to take up croquet, and add the phrase "nice tap Gramps" to your vocab.
I might have to make up a t-shirt (no-one ever landed a 720 playing croquet) and wear it to work - in protest.
get on board people, we need to show support in numbers! so sick of councils and there bullshit! please go like and share, cheers!
Pretty sure they have been going to do this for ages, isn't that why they built the park up Tolosa street?
No that's not why they built the "Tolosa Park" the Tolosa Park was built as a kids bike safety track with a few skateable objects in there! If you ask the council, Tolosa st is not a skate park, we cant hold comps etc there!
