> BELCO BOWL JAM 2016
A few days before the event, CSA VP Brenden Wood came off his motorbike at 90 kmph. First thing he said when he came out of surgery on his arm was - 'I'm not missing Belco Bowl Jam!'
What a trooper.
Brad Timms gave me a call that we put over the PA so everyone could wave and say hi as he sat out on the boom arm his crane from a nearby worksite overlooking the bowl. Here's the view... @saint_bradrick
@canberra_bespoke_creations constructed a mondo 2.4 metre roll-in to enhance the @modusbearings high air category!
Juniors were up first... here's Ben Hennessy from Sydney - BS Air - Pang Photo
Juniors top five in no particular order (left to right in photo):
Zane Hedley (Newcastle NSW), Ethan Copeland (ACT), Zepp Heyes (Rye Vic), Kieran Woolley (Kiama NSW), and Ben Hennessy (Strathfield NSW).
After the wheel raffle game, the Opens kicked off. Long time legend Barry Strachan from Wollongong has pretty much been to every Belco Bowl Jam since day dot. Layback grinding... what a legend!
The Longest Stalled invert category was up first. Matt Kitai, Ethan Copeland, Sam Giles, Noah Regan and George Richards all put down, but the real battle was between Belco Bowl Jam legend RJ Barbaro and OG Old Skool ruler Billy Harrison.

15-year-old Cory Juneau from the USA could have gone in the Juniors, but stole the show in the Opens instead. In this run he completed a gap to frontside lipslide looping back around for a gap to frontside Nosegrind. Nicely done!
