The mission is to go the parra-monster daily double, that should keep you out of trouble.

Justin Sawell 14:44 08/Dec/05

Boris, I did that P-M-D-D on Monday and it's totally rad.

Almost screwed up the courage to drop in on the vert ramp, specially after some hints fom Mulhall. Alas!

My legs hurt the next day though. I must be getting old.

I skateboarded the bowl at Bondi - does that make me cool?

I mean, sure, it was only me rolling around on a friends skateboard on the bottom wearing socks, but that still makes me better than you street skater kids who can't skate it - doesn't it?

boris 13:11 09/Dec/05

Why on earth do so many young skateboarders whinge about every new spot? You are all F@#King spoilt i recon. Back in the day we were just super stoked to have a local street freshly paved. These are good times, theres more and better terrain then there ever has been so dont take so much for granted.(there this post proves iam getting old).Wise up and keep positive.

Gravel Burns 13:31 09/Dec/05

Boris, that's on the money!!!! The other thing that's weird about young guys whining about terrain and the quality of parks is that they're STREET skaters. What the fuck is it with that? The whole world is a street skaters' skatepark!! Imagine if any of us old fogeys asked the council to build us a hand rail and a set of stairs in 1980. They would have pissed themselves.
Here's the drill. Get in on the ground floor of your local park design. Have some input. Lobby the council and be positive. As far as I can see there is so much killer terrain being built in and around Sydney, that no self respecting skater has any right to be bitching. Us old guys have had to wait for over two decades to skate bowls and parks of the quality we are seeing now. In the meantime we built our own, traveled or cruised the street. That's where the new school came from. Born from the initiative of skaters who had nothing but the passion for rolling around on a skateboard.
Remember this one?
SHUT UP AND SKATE!!!!

Sean (Gravel).

Who remembers the time when if you wanted to skate a park as good as Marseille, you had to go to Marseille.

Well when I was a little champion and wanted to skate certain parks, I used to travel vast distances via public transport. Examples include Central Coast, Chatswood, Leumeah etc etc (I live in the Shire by the way, so it's a bit of a distance).

These days I drive because I am awesome.

I guess the point is, if you want to skate a park like X, goto X and skate it. Having a range of different parks in Sydney is a good thing, noone wants the same thing in each suburb, otherwise once you've mastered one park you have nothing to progress onto.
