Very upset to hear this, Kenny was a top mate, a total inspiration. Very much saddened to hear this news.
I can still not fathom this at all...

I will share some thoughts this evening, a lil' too blown away at this moment...
R.I.P. Kenny'

I used to go to all the Milo/Bonzer comps in 1988 and Kenny was always there along with Tony Mann as the resident pro's, with Cam Ward on the mic. It was such a fun time and those dudes definitely helped to make it go off. Not long after this the Bondi vert ramp was built and Kenny would come and shred it up alongside us with his distinct frontside-favouring style. The way he did things was so unique, I dare say no-one will ever do them quite like he did, and with so much heart and enthusiasm.
I only saw him a couple/few times in the last 15 odd years - livin the dream around abouts the Gold Coast, still as energetic and loose as ever and wanting to rage !
This really is sad news. So sorry it happened this way.
Much love & respect.

Very sad news. The rock and roll ethic of burning out before you fade away is sound in romanticised theory, but when someone who is nowhere near ready to fade away burns out, then FUCK IT! That is some cruel shit.
As Cos said above, Ken was an honourary Newie skater in the late eighties. I skated quite a few demos with him on the coke ramp, and as I've mentioned in previous posts, nobody made that ramp shake the way that Kenny did. I'm stoked to hear he was still ripping right to the end.
Dude in a car killed Kenny! YOU BASTARD. Hope the karma gets the car guy.
Heaven is a kidney pool. R.I.P. KG.

Kenny is the OG Nulla, Without his influence the Nulla skaters would not be the same.

He loved to push the limits and didn?t give a fuck about how people perceived his skating.

I remember when I was a kid Ken making ramps out of anything give him some wood a hammer and nails and half an hour later we would be riding.

Him Paul Degan, Neil Davis, Gus Oburg and others would build ramps anywhere knowing dam well the council would destroy them.

That didn?t matter to them they would just build another one.

I have many great memories of Ken not only as a skater but also a great friend.

Slut airs, Boneless?s with the board in his mouth, double helmet hit boneless?s the list goes on.

Kens attitude reflected and still reflects on the younger gen of Nullas as his ride anything attitude gave us the ride anything go hard or go home outlook this attitude is part of the reason the Nullas were so knarly in the 80?s.

The circumstances around Kens death really suck he was a great friend and mentor to me and many others.

Fallen Friends shall never be forgotten.

Rest In peace

What a shock. I had some great times with Gibbo. He introduced me to the corporate world of skateboarding. I have very fond memories and many stories with my best was when he was skating on a board from cash converters with sticky tape keeping it together.

OK, think I can put some words together, but they will in no way do justice !
Man...seriously bummed

Wot can u say about the guy that hasn't been said already by everyone in this thread.
Gibbo was the main man, he embodied what 'Nulla' was & is to this day (& forever more).

I am gonna miss c-ing the Funky Gibbon', but his tearing, lacerating conquests of transition & beyond, live on forever in my memory.

In repsonse to MM's report on the ramp in between the two factory's, hell yeah, it was about 16 foot, & a gnarly drop of about 30 foot behind it (with a tiny platform of about a foot), Kenny ripped it with the raddest of styles (& dominated it), Evo mentioned the slut air...Kenny would reef that board up & literally throw it around in the air under him (years b-4 his time there), Ti mentioned the Milo / Bonzer deals, my fondest memory was standing on top of a truck supporting a 2 foot transition with about 6-8 foot of vert wall, during the sticker toss, Ken' stormed through the middle of the crowd & flapped a perfectly lapped frontside rock (on a 1 inch edge), & pulled it in...the gnarliest thing I have ever seen.

The ruler of tight transitions, & a frontal pioneer...The after hours launch ramp sessions in the Nulla carparks, the beserk sessions at the Keirle, hangin' with the Manly localz all w/end, rollin' with all the Bonzer boyz' (from Newy & Syders'), hangin' on D.Corders "The Ramp"/s...too much fun...
A lot of memories.

Ken always has been a legend, & has always inspired me, & I know a lot of others, his style has been passed down to a lot of the boyz' (the Higham bros', Jakee, Evo, etc...) And more so than the style....The Nulla attitude'

First & foremost, Ken was a top bloke.
Always pushin' himself to go harder, higher, & more gnarlier...& also pushin' every-1 else around him to do so as well, what a man.
It's been a sad day..., a lot of people look up to Ken, he provided guidance & direction for a lot of us, It was all about rippin'

He set the scene, & in a way...he was the scene, never one to follow trends, but a definate trendsetter, with an avid crew to follow on.
As Evo' said, a great friend...

I'm gonna find some more ol' picz' & have a beer...
Ol skool jams won't ever be the same again.
As I am writing this, the rain is falling in Sydney, & the tears of admiration are falling in the sk8 world...

Lets' all go bust out on a frontside rock fer Gibbo'
Rest In Peace'
F.T.W.
