Thanks for the kind words Fetus !
Yeah I literally pop in here once every year or two. Haven't really done much, but I can most definitely thank these forums for tonnes of my growth.

Fetus, stefan postles, newidude(brad), getrad, etc. some of the biggest helps in my career to date.

I'm shooting bands 99.9% of the time now (as getrad would have made jokes about me doing this earlier in the days... I actually have a drawing he did of Leeroy shooting bands once hahaha.

There's my shit.
I wish we could somehow give back to this community, but it doesn't seem the same as it was hey. Getrad has a point about instagram etc.

I don't think I've posted anything in about 3 years.. I came back to find any photos I took prior to 2010 when my hard drive ran away from home. Was super stoked to retrieve over 100 shots the other day that I haven't seen in years and honestly thought they were long gone until 'dean123' told me to try find my old thread...

Upon finding a couple of my photo threads, not only did I find the photos but the cc.. Looking back sk8parx forums and the forumheads basically gave me so much good advise (aswell as some funny as fuck negative shit and banter) on skate photography, the guidance that come from constantly bumping my thread for more advice, do's, don'ts, cc and of course always down for some props ;) really helped guide me in the right direction, although I haven't pursued a career in skate photography (props to those who have - Moey & Darwin in particular - I am now working around Melbourne for a few studios / photographers as an assistant and digital operator.

I believe the whole fb /ig thing 'likes' was basically what we were already seeking likes on our posts / threads although it wasn't a simple 'like' it was more than that it was advice, comments on how to improve. The same kick we used to get out of an OG forumhead, dope skater or skate photo masta, saying something along the the lines of 'sick photos, keep it up' and all the rest of the postive comments, we were seeking 'likes' before ig / fb. That's my opinion anyway.

skateboard.com.au and the forumheads taught me so many skills that are so essential to photography in general, this is where I learned things like rule of thirds, composition, lighting, timing and even exposure. Now I can also say that anyone who mastered the PT-04 and vivi 285s shooting skating learned to cross those abilities over into studio lighting, well I did anyway.

Anyways, I came on here to find my old threads and retrieve some photos that I thought were long gone, It was like Christmas finding them!

Cheers to all the forumheads but more importantly Drew n Potty, thanks Drew for lending me your 10.5mm to shoot with and pushing the silly irresponsible young me to shoot more, it helped bring me to where I am today and I am happy with where I am. Thanks Potty for all the kinds of nonsense we have spoken at the nash or at the shop, your both legends and I'm sure your both great fathers.
