Nothing too serious, just somewhere else to view some good aussie content.. Check it out

SW Ollie - Tim Black

Does it matter which Bay?

For example are crew from Summer Bay down? Its not so much the bay its the crew in the The Bay.

Years skating?

12

How'd you get into it?

I entered in a bike shop raffle when I bought my bike and ended up winning my first skateboard. From there I couldn't put it down-skating out on the street everyday. I ended up picking it up pretty quick. It also helped that all my mates started getting into it around the same time so we had a fun crew to shred with.

Are any of those mates guys you still skate with today?

Nah, most of them moved on, got jobs and apprenticeships but a couple of lads kept it going with me. We then started skating with all the older crew a lot more so it all worked out for the best.

Can you remember the first trick you learnt?

I think it was the pop shuvit

Who were the guys you looked up to back then, both from overseas and here?

Oh there were too many, but Dennis and Darren Durrant, Casey and Kane Stewert, Tim Black, Dave Battlecat Harris, P Rod, Pj Ladd, Koston, Rob Welsh and Justin Eldridge were the main guys I looked up to.

Did you ever hang posters on your wall? If so, of who/what?

Nah I never really did. I couldn't get any at the time. I just read a lot of AUS & US mags and watched a shit load of videos and clips.

Favourite video and favourite part?

Don't really have a favourite but the one I watched the most would have to be IN BLOOM, Paul Rodriguez. His part was the shit back then.

It seriously seems there's something in that Bay water with all the crew coming up. (Yourself, Tommy, Coleman, Joel etc) How is it skating with those guys? Are you always pushing each other?

Yeah for sure. It's so good. We have alll been skating together for years. Everyone's got their own strengths so there's something new always going down.

What's up with you giving Coleman directions when he's driving?

ahaha i dont know aye. I just had some bad runs giving him directions but its only with him for some reason. I'll just keep my mouth shut from now on. Haha

One thing I find amazing is that you and Tommy especially have tricks like bs noseblunts on lock and use them as set up tricks. Was there a time looking back that you can remember progressing past just doing ollies and pop shuvs on the road outside your house?

Yeah for sure. I still shred out the front. Backside noseblunts are one of my favourite tricks so when I finally learnt them I didn't stop doing them. So now they don't feel so hard. haha

I know Ben Ventress (Project Distribution) helped you out a lot from the start - who was your first sponsor?

Skatebiz skate shop was my first but it all really started with Kwala. They all helped me out so much. Big thanks to Andy(Mac) and Benny V.

I hear you don't like a lot of foods, even though you've never tried them. Are you a steak and chips guy?

Steak all day! I used to be like that when i was younger but I've grown outta that. I'll try most things instead of just judging it for what it looks like.

How was your trip to the States last year?

Oh amazing! It was so good to see how things roll over there. Nothing like I had expected. I flew over with Kane and Joel and our adventure started at Kane's uncle's in Venice for the first week. We then met up with Dennis and Tommy and I spent most of my time at Dennis' place. Dope place with a mini ramp out the back in the jungle. Just skating everyday, meeting so many good people. I ended up hiring a car which was weird driving on the other side of the road. I did the missions out to San Diego and got to crash at Rob Welsh's house with Kane and we met up with the Kayo guys. After all that my girl at the time came over and met up with me for 2 weeks so we got to do a little of the tourist side of things. We went to Anaheim and Disneysland then did the drive out to Vegas. Such a crazy place - another world out there. We then finished it off in Hollywood, but overall I had the best time

I heard you got a bit rowdy at Kane's uncles place. What's the story there?

ahaha I can't really remember much. I just got the whole story the next morning. Apparently we were at Denny's place in San Pedro - Kane and Joel were leaving to head back to Venice. They were trying to tune these girls into driving us home. They said I was being the biggest kunt to these girls so they didn't want to come back to Kane's joint. So that pissed the boys off.. After that I was yelling at 3 in the morning at his uncle's units, waking people up, and Kane was trying to shut me up. It just escalated from there with Joel in the middle, me telling Kane to hit me, while he was trying to strangle me. ahahah Good times. Too much beer pong!

And you're there again now right?

Who are you staying with and how's it been so far?: Yeah I've been here for about 5 weeks now, got another couple weeks left. Back staying at Dennis's place in Rancho Palls Verdas. Trips been really good so far, skating and trying to film everyday. Meeting heaps of people and skating all the good spots. Beside all the traffic it's the best place.

Any stories you want to share from this trip?

Nollie BS Heel - Tim Black

There's too many stories. Got to go to Phoenix AZ with DVS for this Red Bull comp held down there. We went to Vegas for 2 nights and i still can't get over that place, its another world. Had my first legit Halloween over here, it's so crazy how big they do it. Torey Pudwill had a big party for it from what i can remember. A bunch of people dressed up all crazy, playing beer pong all night. The boys (Tommy, Tim and Kane) got here last week so we have a tight crew to do some missions now and hopefully make it to SF before i leave.

For people who don't know you, you come across as a quiet lad although rumour has it you don't mind a scrap when you've had a few drinks. True?

FALSE! I hate fighting. I've only been in like 2 fights before and they were only recently because of dudes being a piece, thinking they're the shit! lol And for people who know me I'm not too much of a quiet lad, only when im outta my comfort zone.

So what does the next year hold for you? Any solid plans?

Nothing solid yet, just play it by ear. But I would really like to get over to Europe and Aisa at some point and skate all the amazing spots.
