ND: So you're pretty famous/infamous in cbr and Sydney, but for all those other muthas, who is Floyd Scott, where's he from, and what's he do etc?
FS: Haha! Well yes, my name is Floyd, I�m 18 and I am from a little coastal town called Yamba where I spent my whole life until I was about 17, when I moved from there to the exotic tropics of Canberra. I made the move from Yamba to Canberra with my good mate M.P. to get away and find a job. After getting there and working as a labourer for a few weeks I got over it and and thought the place was fucked. I quit the job I had and just went skating at Woden everyday and ended up meeting all the sweetest cunts who are now known as the Dad Cam crew.
ND: So what's the go with Yamba? How was a place like that for skating? I don't see you doin� too many surfy flips these days...
FS: Yamba is deadlyyy. Growing up skating there was fun as. It�s got a few spots around the place; definitely the land of the surfy flip though. This little town just on the way into Yamba called Maclean has one of the best parks going. I skated there just about every day.
ND: That's sick. So what brought you to Canberra? Politics? The prospect of a fruitful career in the public service?
FS: Ha fuck, well I had just finished year 10 and was at the beach with a M.P. who was moving to Canberra the following week and I was that over school and wanted a change so I decided to go with him. I went home that night and told my parents and they were cool with it as long as I got a job so the next week I was off to Canberra haha!
ND: Gnarly! And the rest is history eh! Speaking of jobs, you're pretty good at surviving for ages on just the fluff in your pocket, which is surely an enviable talent for a skateboarder who would rather be rolling than slaving away..?
FS: Hahahah, fuck, I�ve actually got some new jobs on the line at the moment, but yeah I think I�m definitely more talented at not eating than skating...
ND: What about the babez? I know you're pretty talented at getting onto them, especially playing away from home, got any tips for any of the lady-deficient shralpers out there?
FS: I don't really know what to say on this topic, but I�d say I�ve had my fair share of the good sort and also the hail damaged! The tip for the up and comers is stay: away from strippers, they will leave you heart-broken.
ND: Solid. So up until recently, you were living in a pretty raucous house with fellow Canberra legends Jack Dowden and Todd Baker; how was that? What was the rawest situation you encountered under that roof?
FS: Kavel was the best. The amount of fucking hilarious things that went down there is insane. One time we got Cheen Dawg in demo mode and he was laying it out on the flat screen telly doing all sorts Columbian moves. Man, fuck, one time there was a random dog that was hanging about and it cruised into the lounge room and we all noticed it had something in its mouth. We didn�t know what it was so we chased it around for a bit. It ended up dropping it and right before us was a freshly filled franga. We came to the conclusion it was Dowden�s hahaha! ... But yeah there are so many stories from that place.
ND: Fuck, I�ll give that a point or two for rawness! It was pretty much the house of Dad Cam eh? Are you gonna have another part in Dad Cam 2? I heard it's gonna drop sooner than you think...
FS: Yeah it was. Every skater that would come through Canberra would stay there; it was rad. Yeah, Dad Cam 2 comes out around mid-November. It�s pretty much the same skaters as the first one but this time it�s got a full part of Mat Rat!!
ND: Dude I can't wait to see Matty's rig getting gnar! Got any sponnos?
FS: Yeah his part will be amazing! Well I�ve been riding for Shifty's for about 9 months and Mick and Todd help me out so much. Best shop and and people going.
