C'mon Sydney...
Meeting 2:00pm Saturday 31st May @ Wharf Road Recreation Hall (Building 504) Wharf Road, Call an Park
http://www.leichhardt.nsw.gov.au/EventViewTrainingDetails.aspx?Bck=Y&EventID=1146&DisplayType=C
If you're anything like me and never heard of Callan Park.. it's located in Rozelle.
The park is a 20min walk (or 10 min skate?) from the Lilyfield Light Rail station.
Light rail to Lilyfield from Dulwich Hill is approx. 15 mins, or from Central is 25 mins.
It's not exactly a CBD skate park, but with a good design it would be worth a bit of extra travel.
I reckon the go for any new Sydney parks is find out the maximum budget possible, and then hand over all design to Aaron Jenkin. He did an awesome job with waterloo. Chad ford, nah player
for sure man, i'd love to see what he could come up with.
Waterloo is one of the best parks I’ve skated, because it has almost all the basic street elements, a few extra creative things, but mostly it has perfect spacing for runs, and allocated areas for skaters to stand and wait for their turn.
There’s no denying belco is about as good as it gets, but I agree that given the space and budget anything is possible.
the problem is when dudes like this chad ford character get their designs through without other skaters input.
there’s so many heads on this forum who helped refine the hobart design, and the peer review is what weeds out any flaws and dumb shit in a design.
That’s the importance of having so many knowledgeable skaters attend these meetings…
These are the guys who will be designing the Callan Park facility. http://enlocus.com/
This is a great opportunity for any locals or Sydney heads to have input into the parks design.
If you're interested...... I strongly suggest coming along.
There's another meeting next Saturday.
I'm not sure if I can make it, but I'd have much more peace of mind with the final design if there's a collective mind of forumheads present.

Good to see Sydney finally getting some opportunities. Good on ya Pet_flies for getting stuck in and keeping crew informed.
Hey guys,
