A 15-year-old girl was confirmed with the virus late yesterday and health authorities said today the girl's mother's since tested positive.
The girl's brother, a year seven student, is was also likely to have the disease.
Chief Public Health Officer Stephen Christley says tests on the boy are being repeated after being inconclusive the first time.
He says officials have decided to close the boy's school, Blackfriars Priory School in Adelaide's inner north, for a week as a precaution, meaning about 1,000 students will stay home.
About 50 year seven students are to receive a course of TamiFlu anti-virals.
The girl's school, Eynesbury Senior College, has also been closed for a week, affecting about 400 students.
About 40 year 10 students have been given TamiFlu.
