as most people have stated mopstly anything by the later hunter S. thompson is an entertaining and insightful read.

i like autobiographies of rockstars and such.

open up and bleed - Iggy Pop
Scar tissue - anthony keidis
The Dirt - motley crew
Dandy In the underworld - sebastien horsely
the heroine diaries - year in the life of a shattered rockstar - nikki sixx

I just finished the guns n roses bio, "Watch you Bleed"

Don't bother!

Boring full of filler, and over dose after another, whining, ranting, and childish bickering, coupled with law suits for wife bashing(axl)

Out of 5 it gets -2

At the moment I'm reading a collection of short stories by Ernest Hemingway. His story, "Hills Like White Elephants" is amazing. Anyone read anything by Thomas Pynchon? I've been looking at Gravity's Rainbow but I know I couldn't conquer it.

I haven't fiction in a long time (except Thomas Harris). Having said that, I just d/led the first three Dragonlance trilogies to read, for nostalgia. Read them when I was 14 or 15, figured I'd give 'em another go just for the hell of it.

Pokey...JB said he's finished the final draft on it recently so maybe late this year or early next year.

The man cranks them out, that's for sure.

Now, bring the hate, but I thought Power of One was the biggest pile of wank I have ever read. Sure it had an interesting plot and I was entranced by the story but fuck Courtenay can dribble on about his beloved PK. The kid is simply the best at everything he did. It got really annoying towards the end and I ended up wanting him to get belted.

The sequel Tandia is a bit better.

Read a book called house to house last week. Amazing insight to what a week in falujah(sp) would be like in the army. Only downside written by a yank and has massive pro war on iraq. Highly recommend it!
PPazlo_Lanaflex27 July 2009
Ludo you need to watch Generation Kill.

Simply fucking awesome series depicting the shit a bunch of Marines get into during the invasion of Iraq. Like a series of Jarhead, basically.

@Lazlo - "Now, bring the hate, but I thought Power of One was the biggest pile of wank I have ever read."

I'll let you know if I agree when i finish. I've actually been going to hire out the movie for the last fortnight or something (coz its been yrs since i saw it), but saw the book at Mums house and thought I'd be better to read it first so I can be one of those wankers that say "the book is way better than the movie"

I think I've said it before, Hannibal Rising!
One of the best books i have read in ages.

catcher in the rye
Bbondiboy6627 July 2009
Catcher in the Rye? I fucken hate that book. I had to read if for school. Holden Caufield is a simpering fuckstick who needs a good punching.
PPazlo_Lanaflex27 July 2009
Have I mentioned Cell by Stephen King? Holy cunt fuck! I am nearly all the way through it and it is one good read.

About a pulse-virus sent out via mobile phones which sends people batty for a few days and then turns them into zombies (not the typical zombie...more hive-mind one entity zombie). A group of people try to escape and stuff happens.

It'd make a great movie....err....which apparently it will. Movie is in development stage.
