Dub has seriously taken a dive for the worst. All these fucking "dubstep" mixes that frankly are the biggest piece of shit I have ever heard... Fuck I even heard some piece of shit Britney Spears bullshit on the radio somehow the other day and guess what... Yeah It was a "dubstep song" apparently. FUCK OFF.

Before clowns were telling Me "have you heard dubstep man" that is when some decent shit was comming out. All I fucking hear now is grade D producers ripping off everyone who was there at the start, taking their bass lines and wobbles and combining them into their "own" song... Guess what cunts that isn't making your own song.
Probably the most ripped off would have to be bar9 followed by benga and scream. I'm just fucking glad they haven't started ripping off Starkey yet, his shit still sounds somewhat original.

All that being said, I don't particularly listen to dubstep much anymore, I started getting into some electronica shit. But the gigs I went to in Brizy that were by far the best would have to be Harmonic 313, Starkey and Joker. All those gigs were like 10bucks and there were only about 20 people there (most of them probably by mistake).

p.s. Amped on DOOM (formaly known as MF DOOM) comming to brizzy soon, that is going to be fucking sick. If I could see one act it would probably be him.

I was never really a fan of rusko that much, I also saw Reso one time and he wasn't that great either, however I kinda felt the venue let him down a bit. Harmonic 313 (Aka Mark) was actually pretty insane, the speaker system they had at bar soma that night was crazy, same with the Joker gig there.

Harmonic313 slays the place every time he plays..! Last time he dropped Pinch - The Boxer into Mala - Eyez VIP, soo good that he gets dubs of the calibre he does - he would be the only one in Australia to have lots of the tunes he does.. Watched the Bassweight doco the other night, was surprisingly really good..

One of the most sought after, rarest plates around.. Hunted one down for $20 the other day yesssss

Starkey played upstairs at the step in about a year or two ago now, was a sick gig, think it cost 5 bucks. Was probably about 20 people there. His set was tight.

Harmonic 313 played around the same time but at Bar Soma. He played a lot of mad tracks, the remix to battlestar, cyclotron and some of his older hip hop shit from another alias was tight. He also dropped some sick tunes from other cats. Night thunder by Nero was crazy on the system they had set up.

Ras G would have been tight if the system was even remotely able to handle his abuse. If he had had the system Joker or 313 played on it would have been amazing.

On a related note, I saw Logistics and Cyantific (from hospital records) at the moon bar a couple of years back and that was equally sick. I don't listen to to much drum and bass but those guys know their shit.

i was at ras g. defs agree the step inn sound system isn't up to par. pretty much all electronic gigs should go down in barsoma now they have upgraded their sound system. mark pritchard is supporting coki and mala which should be dope.

mosca and chasing shadows playing this month too. dnb wise there is a rescued night on this sat at alloneworld. 10 bones and free bbq with some good tunes is hard to pass up. bumming ltj bukem and mc conrad passed up on bris this time round. moon bar was dope

Pinch mix is ok, some bangers in there but I bit too housey/jukeish 130 I reckon.. Broken though, fuck I can't get enough of that tune..

VOID is definitely still going - been meaning to come out to one, seems they do it proper sound system style. They are doing DMZ on the 8th I think.
