dubstep gives me a headache. gentlemen can you tell me some other blokes that make music like this?

Well, the best dub is mostly made from the same handful of engineers ie King Tubby, Scientist, Prince Jammy, Errol Thompson, Crucial Bunny, Sylvan Morris, Scratch etc.

So work out who your favourite engineer is and who your favourite reggae producer is. Then see if you can find a dub album that they did together.

King Tubby is the most flashiest of them, so your best bet is just check him out.
King of Dub is a great place to start after King Tubby meets the rockers uptown. It isn't credited to King Tubby though. Here is a song from it.

Are you using the word "engineer" to describe people who make dubstep?
XXXXXL27 June 2012
engineers are too producers, what selektahs are too djs, unless im mistaken. also dub and dubstep are quite different
DDanka27 June 2012
I'm talking bout dub not dubstep as that is what mattyc was asking bout. Dub being a remix of a reggae song means that it is made by an engineer. King tubby wasn't a producer in the 70s. Other ppl produced a song than took it to him to mix a bside version or a dubplate for a sound system. Sometimes the producer and engineer ate the same person like scratch.
