Lazlo_Panaflex1 Apr 2010Yeah, who cares?!
Not the bikers or scooterz. That's for sure.

Michael Mulhall1 Apr 2010Are you serious?
Ok, I haven't read this whole thread, so what I'm about to point out may have already been addressed, but anyway..
Who on earth built this joint? I'm sorry, but I have to say, you just wasted a LOT of money on ply. You may ask, Why?
Apart from that terrible kink in the coping, the first thing I noticed was that you've built ALL of your transitions and flat banks with the grain of the ply facing in the wrong direction. Every good and experienced ramp builder knows that you MUST follow the grain, not cross it. Again, Why?
First off the bat is speed. Crossing the grain on skateboard wheels reduces speed. It's that simple.
2nd. Over time crossing the grain will compress the ply between the grain, creating a sand ripple effect, which reduces speed even more.
3rd. The compression of the grain will induce splits, cracks, splinters, and eventual holes in the ply.
If you intend to skate this park, I'd say get it over and done with while it's still in half decent condition, cause it isn't going to last very long.

Lazlo_Panaflex2 Apr 2010I dare say the grain won't bother the bikes and scooters though.
would it have cost more or less to concrete the floor rather than ply it?

Vande2 Apr 2010well it would of been concreted floor to start with so i say no. just would of needed touching up i say

dubs4 Apr 2010Instead of you all bitchin about this park why don't you all go down there and offer your great expertise and help these guys fix it up.

Mark Brimson4 Apr 2010Had a look the other day, interesting...
Had a roll of the mini bowl just for a laugh and about 3 hours later I think I finally had enough - didn't even skate the rest of the park.
Mon night skate only session should be good to see what happens.

not the PAYING persons job to go down there and fix it for them.. if it was a burnside situation sure shut ur mouth go down there and help out.
i gotta agree why the plywood floors..?? polished concrete u would have to say is better?? and it gives some young skate kid an after school job for some extra money to go in and clean it every night for an hour or so..
