The Cost of Skateboarding

I really don't know how long I can keep up skateboarding for. I probably get out skating at the most 2 times a week but still, skateboarding is costing me a lot of money. The shoes I only bough a week ago are starting to fall apart and the board i got 3 months ago snapped.

I just can't keep putting all my money into skateboarding because not only do I have to use my own money for skateboarding, but also for my clothes, phone credit and the internet.

Please, I need some suggestions as to how to tackle this, such as a good shoe that's not going to fall apart within the first week of having it, bearings that will actually last, boards that wont snap within 3 months of only moderate riding etc.

And please, I don't want people being dick heads and saying such as "Well,l just go fucking skate, who cares!" well i do, my money has to go to other places too.

Well shoe goo is perfect for extending your shoe's lifespan, and clean your bearings every few weeks, but not with something like wd-40 cos that leaves a residue. You should use power tool cleaning stuff for that, I recommend a google search for something more specific

Honestly, if a board lasted me three months I'd be fucking stoked! I go through boards every 2-3 weeks (being 6ft6 and weighing 90kg) Shoes also wreck quick. I suggest not buying vans. They shred the quickest out of any shoe I've had over 11 years of skateboarding. Last pair of shoes I had was Lakai MJ2's, lasted me about 2-3 months, which is good, maybe try them out.
Gotta take the good with the bad hombre.

If you enjoy it you will find a way to pay for it. Look at the cost of snowboarding, wakeboarding, horse riding or motorbikes and compare it to skateboarding. If you have a passion for something it will most likely cost you money. If you don't have a passion chances are your life will suck. Skateboarding fucking rules.

Oh and the repercussions of giving up skateboarding usually are becoming a tagger lad or really into fully sick pinga action or a horrid combination of the two.

buy suede shoes they last longer, shoes goes them on the side of the sole a lil leave to uper bit if u dont want them to look shit

3 months skating 2 days a week, thats a pretty good life for a board, u cant complain there, and boards dont just snap buy them selfs, its ur own fault it snaped cos u didn't land bolts

look after ur shit dont skate on grass, dont skate through puddles,dont skate in rain duhr, if u want ur bearing to last try skate in clean places, keep ur grip tape clean not dirt so keeps the soles of ur shoes clean no walking on dirt or wet grass
trust me doing this shit will help ur skate board last longer
