Southern Tasmanian State Titles 23rd of March 2013 @ EC skatepark, what a rad day, hear are the results and run down!
40 plus competitors. girls had 3 competitors all gave it a good crack and we decided there was no winner and they where all equal 1st. Nicole Bourke, Jess Dieran and Cher.
14 and under was 6th Milo Langford 5th Josh Newberry 4th Liam Truffid the top 3 was really close and Finn Muir skated really well for 3rd, Danny Mason and Beu Kelly went head to head as usual and Beu just pipped Daniel for 1st and Daniel 2nd.
17 and under was 6th Jack Joyce 5th Cody Walters 4th Broden Kelly 3rd Pat Mullen and in a good old fashion shoot out which looked like something out of street league was Sammi Prayer from launceston in 2nd and Fergus Doherty absolutely ruling in 1st.
The opens was probably the highest standard comp i have seen in Tassie (except for maybe the bowljam the next day) with a 8 man final, 8th Nick Simpson, 7th Paul (poga) McMacken, 6th Peter K, 5th all the way from Queensland was Joey James, 4th Ben Smith, 3rd Laif Johanasen 2nd Christoph Speer and 1st all the way from NSW was Sam Giles.
Thanks to SBA, Hobart City Council, Modus, Cliche, Enjoi, Protec, Jimmys Skate & Street, all the judges and anybody else i forgot to mention!!

I went to Scottsdale last weekend - on route to see Robert Plant.
Shame about this one. Rather than involve the Skaters in construction, the council decided to involve engineers. Result is anything but perfect. Some strange shaped transitions and funny details - like course grit sealed into the surface of the hips - so it's non slip. Would be like a cheese grater if one was to slide bare skin.... Not a total disaster, but disappointing.
Council did not tell me the park was even built... oh well.
