I like it! Centered isnt always a bad thing. in this case he's perfectly between the boat and the pier. the lighting is nice, i think you could've opened up the ambi a stop to make it look more natural.

Never shot skateboarding with anything this wide before, any c&c?I know get closer but I was using a friends lens and I can't really afford 2k to buy him a new one if it took a board to the front element.

the general rule is wide angles look poo for skateboarding, especially when you get up close.... distorting arms out at the edge of frame etc... fisheye or nuthin!!!

yeah CBG, that wide angle pic looks pretty rank. looked okay on my phone but here it doesn't. looks like you could've aimed your flashes up a bit too as they're barely hitting the skater, especially on the camera right side.
