I like where you're going with that wallride photo, I just wish the composition was more forgiving behind him, maybe if you had some external flashes to bring him out of the background or went even higher and framed him more on the ground.
Other than that, real cool shot.

I haven't been shooting enough lately, not for a lack of trying.
This is Luke Milsom Gapping to FS Lipslide and is probably abd. Any one got thoughts on whether the tilt works for them or not?

Thanks Cameron, i know what you're saying. Definitely would like to play around with flashes and stuff to mix it up a bit.

I dont know the spot well enough to judge how the tilt effects the photo Cameron, but it seems fine to me.

My own attempt at a somewhat tilt photo, I cant help but think I didnt tilt it enough? and that I should photoshop a stubbie into his hand

Hmm the "tilt" only really works when it's used to emphasise other compositional elements such as leading lines and geometric shapes (triangles in particular, it seems).

The only photo on this page it really does any favours for is the wall ride where the wall is almost sort of popping out of the frame (would look even better coming out of the bottom right corner IMO) which makes the skater appear to be coming at the camera fast.

Also look at the front shove photo - the tilt there has exaggerated the runup and created some drama at the expense of the landing... Which would be great if the run up was a focal point of the photo/trick.

The heel flip is okay because of the lines all over the place maybe? There is some pretty obvious sloppy dodging going on around the skater though. Nice colours etc otherwise.

I was trying something different with that front shuv, trying to shoot from behind at that gap. I'm slowly running out of angles at that spot haha

Precisely, that varial heel was well freaky to shoot. Practically landing on my camera. When I do look at it, the tilt is rather extreme.

Yeah sorry man I didn't mean to shit on everything. The best thing to do is to keep experimenting like that and see what works and what doesn't, throw out what doesn't and keep moving on from there.

I know what it's like to shoot at the same spot over and over and to try and find new/good angles. I've taken my fair share of shots that didn't work in the end too but I guess that's the only way to learn...
