lace covers means you wont break laces and it doesnt look too horrible so i am sold.
if i had 300 bucks or however much they cost i would just cut them down myself they look even better than cut down halfcabs.

Alex Olson was a key contributor to this project and explained that he wanted a product that would function perfectly, look good on and off his board, and stand apart from the standard skate shoe design formula. We were really inspired by this idea and set out to blend high performance and high-end style—the result is a very versatile shoe. The upper is based on simple, sophisticated luxury sneakers, while the outsole is a clean, refined version of our classic look. The stylish performance bottom unit delivers the grip and cushioning required by the most demanding professional skaters.
Thanks to Vans, we get a sneak peek at their upcoming Versa model. Inspired and spearheaded by Alex Olsen, the shoe blends style, fashion and skate culture. The inspiration for this model was taken from high-end Italian shoes and is constructed from suede and premium leather. They will be available May 1st, 2010.

Janoskis kill any vans shoe out there. After wearing Janoskis for a while and then putting on some eras, it feels like you've moved into a parallel universe where gambling is legal and your mother is married to an awful man named Biff who killed your father to be able to marry her. He is a very abusive step father and you live your life in fear of what he is going to do next.
Then when you step back into your janoskis, its like you've got a sweet Toyota 4wd that you can take your sprouting girlfriend camping in. You also lives in a nice suburban home with your parents, and your dad has had his first book published. Your whole family gets along and you don't even have to wash your sweet Toyota 4wd because this guy named Biff does it for you.

But in terms of your families monetary value, in the first world your step father is the richest man in Hill Valley, but is not caring towards you so you don't see much of the benefit of this.
