says the guy who posted converse at the top of the page.
i think puma has as much right to be in skating as nike, adidas and converse. their history in skating is basically the same as all the other big guys.
i think its more likely puma would take away more from people who would be buying nike and adidas more than they would take sales from core brands.
and its early days anyway, they might fuck out before they even really get in like reebok and k-swiss did anyway.
Is there any more details on the Puma range?
What are they doing to the regular shoes to make it more skatable?
My Dad used to have a pair of those Puma Suedes, or something that looked similar, and they were terribly thin, much too thin to skateboard in.
Wasn't have a go or anything krang. Just making the point that all these sporto shoes - cons included are making it so hard for existing non sporto brands.
yeah fair call.
i dont know any other details about puma skate apart from i think joey brezinski and bucky lasek are on the team.
years ago i would skate in the puma clydes which are basically the same as the puma suedes they were thin but skateable.
the problem wasnt with the shoe being too thin to skate it was more the upper/tongue was so thin that you had to do them up really tight resulting in some ronald mcdonald looking shoe but fortunately putting extra tongues in your shoes was acceptable at the time.
