Geelong Invitational

For starters, thanks to all who turned up. I was super stoked. Secondly thanks to Cliche, Nike SB & Independent Trucks for flowing a heap of proody. Third thanks to Renton who drove down, did some judging and muska vibe noseslides.

Anyway here is the rundown...

Geelong Invitational was pretty much just a session thing for all the local Geelong heads. I made it an invitational so I could try and make sure poeple actually turned up by promising them cash and product. We had a little in-store poll to decide who the 10 invitee's were....

So we wern't all elitist we had pre session session for 5 wildcard spots.
Wildcard spots went to
Alec mels
Robbie Anson
Laurie
Sakazi
Chris Craig

The session was run survivor style over 9 sessions/challenges with dudes getting eliminated or granted imunity over the next challenge.

Round 1: Switch Race around the park..
Did it in 3 groups of 5 with the last in each group going against each other. Wezza didn't know the lines with Chris and Sakazi Bombing Out

Round 2: Big Wall Session
Hayzey and Sellars got eliminated with Guida getting immunity over the next round.

Round 3: Kicky Minute
Task was to see how many you could do in a minute. Dudes paired up, one kickied while the other counted. Alec and Jack got 30 and therfore immunity. Apparently devries can only do kickies switch so he was out.

Round 4: Manny Pad Session
Laurie was out, forget who got immunity... maybe Anthony

Round 5: Hippie High Jump
I set up this little high jump rig that we raised slowly up. Hugh got elimated.

Round 6: Bank to Bar Session
Alec and Robbie got eliminated, Ambrose got immunity

Round 7: Longest Fakie Ollie Comp
Dean and Anthony got eliminated.

**** Jack, Ambrose and Guida left ******

Round 8. Loser rebate session
Session on the bank hip for everyone who had been eliminated so far. 2 spots open to get back into the comp
Anthony and Hayzey got themselves back in..


Round 9: Final on the everyday ledge

When it was over we headed bac kup to the shop for awards ceremony, beers, pizza and vids.


1st: Jack Crook ($250 + board or trucks or kicks)
2nd Ambrose ($150 + board or trucks or kicks)
3rd: Guida ($100 + board or trucks or kicks)
4th: Hayzey ($100 + board or trucks or kicks)
5th: Anthony Davie ($100 + board or trucks or kicks)
6 - 10 got $50 + board or trucks or kicks
11 - 15 got $20 + board or trucks or kicks
Everyone who went in the wildcard thing got rad stuff too care of aforementioned sponnos.

Geelong is such a rad park.. I'd like to make it there one day.. Cool clip too.. We need more organized events at my local.. And maybe a few extra skaters to take part..
