The Community Collective India

After a month and a bit of bleeding everyone over here dry we're finally heading off to India on Wednesday to put all the funds and product donated to good use.

The general plan is to get into Bangalore and meet up with the HolyStoked crew as well as a few euros and whoever else is lying around then head over to Goa where we will be extending the existing skatepark there. From there we're boarding a train for about 48 hours from the tropical paradise that is Goa to the blistering cold mountains of Kasol, a small town near the Himalayas and building one more park just before heading back home.

We'll be posting regular updates and the odd curry review so stay tuned.

So we flew out early New Years Eve and after a connecting flight from KL and 2 new years countdowns we finally arrived in Bangalore with a whole heap of luggage and skateboards in boxes.

it seems like curry breakfasts are pretty standard/the only option we have found.
dosas are pretty good though.

we headed over to the HQ of Holy Stoked this morning and met up with Soms (one of the main dudes behind Holy Stoked).

He and His girlfriend were super hospitable and cheffed us up with a mean lunch.

5/5, would recommend the fish.

We stopped by the HSR skate park, which was only ever in use for about a month after it was built due to high powered angry neighbours who weren't happy with all the street kids who came to skate there.

we only got to skate for about 30 seconds before getting kicked out.

what road rules?

the main skatepark in Bangalore which is privately owed and costs 250 rupees to skate for 1 day (which is more than some peoples daily wage over here)

the park has lights until late every night, this group are the regular crew.
