OP
Along with Monster skateboard mag and apparently Kingpin aswell ( my personal favourite ). Sad day for Print and skateboarding in general because we keep losing these incredibly good hardcopy magazines to the internet platforms.

Two days ago I bought the online issue of the latest Journal on my ipad because I cant seem to track it down in any newsagencies after multiple attempts and couldn't wait any longer to read / look at the content. ( when I find it I will %100 be buying a copy ) Don't get me wrong it was worth every cent of the $2.49 and it was another amazing issue ( when is it not ! ) but its just not the same when looked at on the screen. Am I just not with the times or does anyone actually enjoy reading a mag on a fucking ipad ?

Never bought or viewed an online Zine, I just can't enjoy it.
It's sad, but that's the future :/

Read the journal off my phone today and it sucked, much rather the physical copy.

I've tried digitally viewing mags a few times and it never fails to suck.

Long live print!

I love digital for what it is but it doesn't beat a good quality printed mag (ie the journal, slam, manual etc).

Would rather read the digital versions of the printed on toilet paper american mags though (thrasher, Transworld etc).

Digital print isn't too bad but theres no way I'm going to pay for it.

I still don't get why ppl have abandoned the idea of a video magazine. Internet didn't kill video, it just made it more accessible. Having regular segments like a rookie clip, pro clip, sparx / cuntm8 funny trick tip, spot check, montage etc is still relevant in the youtube era.. Some kind of new school online mini 411vm would be rad. Only needs to be like 20 min episode max every few months. Prob no money in it but thats never stopped skate media before.

Thrashermagazine.com is pretty much a video magazine. If you compiled all the footage into one video per month it would be pretty similar to 411. They just drip feed content.

I agree with the digital magazine, I can't really get into it. Ironically, I spend hours every day reading skate shit on the internet.
