West Footscray skatepark upgrade

Fences have gone up on site, the old park has been demolished and construction is running at the same time as Highpoint Plaza. The skatepark is at Johnson Reserve on Essex St, West Footscray (check the old park in the database for map location).

As a Footscray resident, I am stoked!! I had no idea this even in the works. Looks fun

Why did the old park get demolished ? Should have just added it on

The old park had some wear and tear and it wasn't really worth saving and the concrete slab had moved creating gaps, etc. Just at the end of its useful life so a concrete option was requested by the locals and Council. It's a tiny park, but should be good fun. I can't wait as it's round the corner from my house too.
