The old four sided Meadowlands Road bowl in Carindale recently had a makeover and I went to check it out the other day.The fences are still up, but there were some people skating so I went in and took some pics.
Overall, I am torn between the old and the new - the old transitions which were good in some parts, some steep, others not so steep were a lot better than the new "banked walls with kinks" that make up the new bowl, but there is now coping on almost all of it right the way round.
Ironically, the best part now is the no coping area just before the gap, which has been made a lot better so you can skate it.
Go there and make up your own mind, but it makes me think of the words "Council contractors" and not "skatepark builders" when I see the finish, how the transitions are banked, lumpy and have a definite kink at the join between ramp and flat bottom.
