adidas Skateboarding launched the Melbourne Das Days event with a takeover of Welcome to Thornbury in Northcote. Melbourne’s local skate community came out in force to support the launch, an event dedicated to the latest adidas Skateboarding 3MC silhouette. In honour of the recent release; a wear test, open skate jam, photo exhibition and live music lineup was held for adidas Skateboarding team riders and the local community. The visual diaries featured as part of the photo exhibiton were curated by Kayle Lawson, Gabriel Summers, Vanessa Miles, Morgan Campbell, Dave Chami, Sid Tapia and Tyrannamen. The exhibition depicted and chronicled the lives of the various creators from Australia’s skate scene with Sid Tapia creating a live mural featuring the 3MC silhouette. The full music lineup featured live performances from DJ Captain Franco, local Melbourne bands Bitch Diesel, CIVIC, Shepparton Airplane and Tyrannamen, which was open to the public to attend in addition to the custom built warehouse skate park for the community to skate with a best trick contest judged by adidas Skateboarding’s Gabriel Summers for a $200 cash prize purse. adidas Skateboarding Australia team riders in attendance for the event included Dennis Durrant, Gabriel Summers, Mitch Morrison, Kayle Lawson, Vanessa Miles, Morgan Campbell, Adam Davies and LP Nuku.
