Hey Guys
I've just starting skating again after more than 28 years and I'm worse than useless!
I was expecting to pick up my old vert skills quite quickly based on the fact that I was still able to 50/50, backside disaster, rock'n roll, rock to fakey and frontside smith grind Mona Vales vert ramp and all on a borrowed board deck about 5-7 years ago!
Injuries thus far since starting a few weeks back.
2 cracked ribs + bruised sternum
Blew out my knee
Multiple bruised ankles feet
Possible fractured bones in both hands
Everyone included my doctor thinks its simply too old to skate at 46 having stopped completely this past 28 years
Well I'm not so sure or convinced its age related as to why I'm so terrible...
I believe I've working out what the problem is but I'm not sure there's an easy fix other than learning to skate again from scratch.
So I used to skate without my coke-bottle glass's plus I only have one working eye and that eye was pretty blind.
About two years ago I got cataracts in my one simi working eye resulting in cataract surgery and to my amazement I've now got 20 version in my good eye....
My theory is that with my brand new lens all the aspect ratios and everything for that matter has changed and my body can’t work or get used to the update.......
Anyone dealt with this type of issue and does the brain finally work it out and the skills kick back in again or do I have relearn everything?
