Helensburgh Skatepark

The park itself is pretty good. It has a mixture of everything from street to bowl to vert to gnar. It has the regular block, three side pyramid, hubba up accross and down, and rail across and down the pyramid for the street skaters. No innovative stuff for the street "obstacles", but you can still do a flippity dippity to switch backside hurricane, so they shouldn't have anything to complain about. The bank to wall ride(not vert) thing is fun. It has no coping, just raw crete, so if anyone gets up there and does a grind the crete dust will fill the air. I'm not sure what the point of the big "Danny Way" roll in to vert wall on the other side of the park is, but I don't mind a vert wall(about 2 foot of vert) for a bit craziness and to instill fear in every kid who tries to skate it. There is a little mini in the corner that is fun, but also contains the gnar section of the park. It is about a 4 foot up to a 5 foot extension that has a tight bowled corner into a "wall". The wall has about 3 foot of vert and 2 foot of tranny. This wall looks crazy at first but after a few rolls up it, I can see one of the killer skaters using it like a mini ramp. I can see back smiths around the corner, down the wall or fives to fakie around the corner and down the wall. There is a "eurongrel". A cross between a mongrel and a euro. It goes quarter to 1.5m platform to 0.5m wall to platform. Now you can benihana up and over a gap instead of just doing them to flat all the time. A 3 sided 7 foot bowl, a couple of hips and a little euro. That is about it.
