sorry owns this park, kicky back lip the 8 rail. OATH!
Im a local to the park, the coping is quite bad in a couple of spots, some of the tranny is a bit lumpy is a few spots. Still a fun park to skate, well worth a visit if visiting Adelaide
some of the trannies are pretty mellow but there is enough space to charge around and build up speed. theres a good balance of transitions and street stuff and the park is nicely spaced out. in the bowls themselves there is a choice of hips, a spine and an escalator to keep you happy. watch out for over protective bogan mums. if your looking for some grub, millys bakery is the shit. the park is in a really nice location in the adelaide hills about a half hour out of adelaide off the freeway. check it out.
the manny pad is one of the most sickes ever nice and long and good height. Flip into that shit yall and youll have time to flip out.
the best park inh s.a!
Whether you shred bowls, gnarl-ify rails, hit the ledges or sess slide the fuck out of the manny pad, Mt Barker has everything to keep you X-Treme dogs cheerin'. With perfect tranny, plenty of room to hoon and nice fat coping, the bowls are great for beginners and veteran crailsliders alike. They are in some spots kind of bumpy, but still manage to put most other mandatory park bowls to shame. There are 2 main "hubba" ledges (5 and 6 stair), both of perfect height, and excellent for learning and perfecting your noseslide underflip darkslide skills. They also have rails next to them, but are way too steep for any gnarly shit to go down on them, except maybe a boardslide if like to get your corey duffel on. The manual pad is perfectly placed in the centre of the park, making it easy to approach from almost any angle. With beautifully shaped coping and a "step up" ledge from the pad, sw crooks flip outs will be a thing of the past within hours. The only downside to the manual pad is that without some wax it becomes somewhat sticky and can send you flying if youre not careful. Other parts of the park include the triangle kicker , which is really a waste of space as it is rarely skated. The 8 stair with rail which is heaps of fun as it is sort of low but reasonably mellow which is great for learning flip-in manouvres. And the 2 fly out rails which are parallel to the ledges which are also loads of fun. If you can dodge the pregnant teenage crackheads, and defend yourself from the bone-thugs filling most alley ways, there are some very nice bakerys along the main street, a mcdonalds 300m from the park, and an ace gap next to the subway, you'll be happy as larry.. Go you good thing!
i broke my deck when i was here last. the stairs and rails are good and the manual pad and ledges are too, the pond just down the hill is good to relax at with ur girl before or after a sesh. i remember there was a manual pad in a stores carkpark down the road. transition flows good and the coping was nice from memory. big, wide and open. good to skate with something for everyone.
its a nice par i just dont get the triangle things with the rails
i like mannies this place sounds good for them holy hell or is it just cranked up to more than it is? hmm.
i am local. what can i say....this park goes off like a bucket of prawns in the sun. probably the best ledge/manual pad in the world, best coping on it as well, not that fake massive almost round shit, nice and sharp. the quarters are good and they flow well. the stairs are good and the banks rock as well. pretty much nothing wrong with this park.
Bikers. i forgot to mention the hordes of homo bikers
But at least the bikers have half a brain now, but the bikers are still diesease at the park. Just need to get rid of the ones that go to Mt. Barker High and 75% of them will be gone.
U dont need a brain 2 realise its called a SKATE PARK not a HOMOSEXUAL FESTIVAL
