Redbank Plains Old Skate Park

From an old bowl construction of the 80s, a couple of additions in more recent years from Conquest / Convic has given this park somewhat of a new element of fun and certainly a highlight of the Ipswich area for skateboarding.
There are an assortment of obstacles, a 3ft high fun box, hip quarters on one end and hip bank on the other with higher facing quarter and bank on either side.
A full bowl with reasonably tight transitions occupies the other end of the park from the old area, with various rails, steps and obstacles in between.
Lights at night make this place fun for those who don't want to burn under the full sun of the day. Small shelter beside the park and not much in the way of other local needs - taps, shops and transport a fair way away.

its still there really ruff concret always rubbish bowl has a hole is the middle so really it only suits bikes

i live here. went to the park and it was ok but a bit ghetto. is there any skaters here? who skates at the new one in redbank near the shopping centre?
i only skated this place once. I had fun, especially on the box.
just for shits and giggles i went and cleaned melted wheelie bins and broken glass out of the bowl just so i could carve something, so unsatisfying. mute air to tail transfers on the box were fun, and the big hip over the back was good for melons and indys, threw down a couple of high ones for the kiddies
Lol still there, still crappy. Apparently they fixed up the ground (About time) but I haven't actually gone up to it to check it out, go past there every now and then and always see Redbank bmx's there, never see any skaters there though. An RC park was just put in like a month ago right next to the park too. I wouldn't reckommend checking it out, pretty crappy for skaters, more of a bmx park. Better off checking out the one at Collingwood Park/Redbank around 5, 6PM, it's usually dead around then. Even if you go after it gets dar, theres pretty good light around. It's fairly close to the train station and it's more skater friendly =) Bit of a mix with Bikers and skaters.
Bowl and Kidney Bowl have both been filled in. Now this park sux major wang more than it ever has !
