Wood street course - also lots of mini-ramps and grind rails. Managed by YMCA including site office. Planned to close in late Mar 2001 - and replaced by sk8 park beside Yarra River in Alexandra Gardens but Council now considering sites in Swanston St and the Sandridge rail bridge (see our news of 5 March). Watch this site for updates.

RIP Sailyards. So much fun to cruise into the city for the day, warm up at the park, skate all the spots ie. South bank, St Kilda Rd, City Square for the rest of the day. Anyone remember when this place consisted of a few left over SDS competition ramps, genuine street osbtacles littered around, and homeless people wandering around.. ahH, the memories. shouldnt this be in the RIP parks section? whatever.
never got to skated looks like it would have been good though
P.S. The green wall of quarters at Riverside was originally scattered randomly at Sailyards. Check Matty Hill's transfer to 50-50 in first Blank video, Dirtbags. Fuck yeah, that was a good day. There was so many fucking mentionable demo's here - Penny, Suski, Mullen, Mariano etc... I remember Gershwen (?) Mosely rocked up about 2 hours early for the demo to warm up, skate and chill with the locals. Even in warmup, he was throwing himself at the high ledges, and sweating buckets because of it.. Good times...
I read somewhere 347582456 siggys were bummed off other people at this park! Whoa. That's durrytastic.
