Shanghai Skate Park

This park is simply amazing! Its fukn huge and not just in area but sheer size. You can skate any tranny from 2ft quarters to 17ft bowls to 25ft+ fullpipe. The park has- mondo bowl-10-17ft with tunnel to 25ft fullpipe and a capsuled corner. Double capsule bowl-is about 9ft with granite coping-steep as and fun as fuck. Six pack-only spines in the whole park-wtf? and they are big with no flatbottom to hit them. The bowl is about 8ft and is crazy-omar wouldnt even sk8 it! Mini bowl-#8 shape with 2ft to 3ft tranny-fun to learn. combo bowl from 5-6ft to 10 ft-prob is 10ft section is over vert. Really fun setup and has big bankwall and a nice rollin. The street section has everything-quarters stairs rails,actually the whole pk is a plaza style. Nice funbox-pretty standard convic street setup. Also has a lil mini to sesh. Penut bowl-4ft to 7ft.really tight but fun for carvie lines. The vert ramp is about 100ft wide and 14ft to 17ft or so-two huge roll ins-one being at least 20ft.gettin lil rusty though.and last of all is comp section-complete with euro rails, hip, funbox-jumpbox, quarters and vert ramp 12-13ft.this area has stadium seating and has a huge big screen tv so u can watch the comp from the rest of the pk and has a built in speaker system throughout the park, plus side is comp section is portable and will be shipped to bj for a while for gravity games. Park is run by smp and is free, they have tried to impose laws such as no filming without permissinon and no glass bottles etc but they go unheeded. There is an smp shop there but it sux. to get there- take metro line 3 to jiangwan city station-its the last stop.take a taxi to song-hu rd its on there.probs are most ppl dont know of the park so gettin a taxi out there or back can be hard but most motorcycles will get you there and back for a bout $1.20 EACH way.nice.if u like i can send u chinese directions to help ppl.

**BETTER DIRECTIONS** Catch the metro to Xinjiangwancheng on the number 10 line.when take the number 6/7 exit at the station.skate north up songhu lu rd.keep skating till you cross over a bridge with a river/lake thing. then at the next road turn right (guohao rd)skate down 100 so m and youll see the vert ramp on the right hand side.. please also note it costs 40 rmb($6.50) for week days and 60rmb ($10) on weekends.. also if you have a friend that dosnt skate it but wants to watch costs 15 rmb (2.50).bring wax and a broom if you want to skate the big bowls as the park dosnt get maintained well..
