Varsity Park
NEAR ME SHARE
I have not had the pleasure of skating this one however I have heard some mixed reports about the bowl, it looks like fun and includes a cradle, vert wall with pool coping and loads of speed humps and hips. There is a large street area of which the waved quarter and garden beds are a favourite. If you can add some more info e-mail me at matt@skateboard.com.au

The bowl looks like it would have some awesome speed lines
This park has been around for a while now. It has been in SLAM one way or another numerous times, and that is saying something. Personally, I have not yet had the pleasure of skating this, but lots of people I know have and they all rave about it. So hit this park up every chance you get.
4 and a half?
the bowl is actually a bit of a disapointment in my opinion, its pretty good up to the cradle but the part that you cant see is too far apart
This is like the best park..went there when i was on a holiday. worth like 5 stars not 4.5
i would give this park 5 stars for sure
this is the my favourite park ever! i skated here a few times when i was on holidays when it was brand new it definetly deserves 5 stars the bowl is awesome!
the bowl is horrible! shallow end is good if you like 3 foot mini ramps full of scooters. Rarely see anyone even roll the deep end, never seen anyone hit anything in the deep except Tony bloody Hawk, even then can't hit more than 1 wall in a row. Way too much flat. Very wonky vert wall makes pizzey bowl feel perfect. Build something we can actually use. And did I mention it's full of leaks? 1.1 mill down the drain. Thanks guys. You skatepark builders need to check yourselves, Learn to push, then learn to skate, then learn to build parks. Idiots.
oh and Potty the waved quarter wall and garden beds are not the favourite thing here to skate. The most skated things are the small flat section at the top level of the park, and the small ledges on that flat section, and the 6 stair. These are the things that are "almost" built right. The 9 is OK, but the double set, the rest of the hubbas are jacked, cracked and falling apart. Parks not even a year old. A flat bar would have been nice. And they put the marble on ledges that are unskateable are they stupid? One last point, all the conrete pool coping is in the street area and the bowl has all steel coping. Something retarded happened here ....
that looks like the best park ever
Sweat
choder boy, your heaps fussy it;s one of the funnst parks around
that wave quarter looks fuckin sick
ive been here a few times since my last comment, all i can say is it gets less fun each time you go. its too artfag, the people who created this park were focusing too much on the aesthetics on the park rather than ride-ability. i totally agree with Choder Boys second comment. the hubbas are fucked, weirdly shaped, a flatbar wouldve been great up in the flat section. the only thing i really like to/can actually skate are the ledges and the shallower ends of the bowl, and even thats only fun for half an hour. but at least its something smooth and people are skating it.
looks cool
the red wall is sweet but the rest is pritty average.
Looks sexy.
It looks so sweeeeeeeeeeet
It looks so sweeeeeeeeeeet
awesome park but the pool coping quarters in the street section are way to tight the cradles hard to get to unless you drop in on a medium sized vert wall
Did the local primary school kids do the murals?
a guy that goes to my local park has been there and says its the sickest park ever
like the red wall & mini is fun... the rest is a bit awkward. wouldnt give it a 4 & 1/2
Looks ver nice!
Best skatepark ever!
the fact is, about 1/2 of this park doesnt get ridden at all, and for a park costing around a million bux, that some ledges and the 3ft bowl get the most action says something.this huge bowl that noone rides,a wall of banks the same size with no transition at the bottom, euro gaps a 3ft vert mini and another wall too tight, cant hit half the red wave wall or get speed for the ledges next to it,more banks with kink/angle bottoms and more just crap obstacles, sooooo much cement, so much potential...what happened to 90's park design, with hips, corners, tacos, bank to transition, combo ledges, spines, bank ledges etc and some freakin lines? some progressively sized obstacles for kids to learn/work their way up on?the whole section between the bowl and the end street bit is wasted no mans land...some people dont really do stairs,(hey my ankles are old) so i'm gettin off my board...choder boy isnt jokin, even tony hawk wasnt havin it with the deep end of the bowl.even bmx's who can pedal for speed dont hit it.wtf happened to the public consultation and design, im thinking you should be asking some average skaters, not pros, not 5 year old school kids, and not the cement company for ideas and designs. I dont know what went down with the design and its approval, but for me and a few guys i know...fail.what a waste.whoever was responsible, individually and collectively, in my mind..im kicking you in the nuts repeatedly.could have made a snake run, some mini bowls/spine,ditch ledge things,whatever... sad:(
I'm getting on now, an average sk8r, & I've sk8d this bowl here heaps. Def my fav bowl on the goldy. It has many real fast lines depending on where u drop in from & the big end is so fuckin' rad! If u like sk8n bowls then this is the place u wanna be. I reckon anyone whinging about this bowl is just too afraid to challenge themselves. "Wake up n' smell the concrete" or stay in the "kiddies pool" up the top if u don't like it. We're lucky to have a council cool enough to spend coin on sk8able terrain for us. I don' sk8 the street course except for the banks which are also rad. For fux sakes, u don't need a smooth transition for everything u sk8! Death to all scooters!!!
