It's happening tomorrow so come down!!
4 - 6pm at Belco skatepark.
Don't winge to me saying we didn't get a chance to consult if you don't take the opportunities.
There will be people down the park from 4pm with draft layouts to talk about.
The more skateboarders the better.
hey i'm not gonna be able to make it to this - got some things to sort out after work and i only knock off at 4 anyway! i filled out the survey in any case and would be up for providing my two bob another time if possible..
I liked that only skateboarders showed up at the consultation. Things like that make all the difference
Thanks for your input. Complete the survey. Have your say. Will keep you posted as to new developments.
A little disappointing that the representative for the Govt at this consultation could not explain why the existing skateable terrain is shrinking in the new proposed design, to make way for a high maintenance grass area for people to sit on.
It's not necessarily shrinking. I understood the foreshore is being extended by 4 metres, so the skatepark will actually come out by another 4 metres. The easement where the stormwater comes through is unstable ground and the only thing there right now is the mini ramp which has shifted. We're asking for a mini ramp to be incorporated somewhere into the new design so I look at it as a gain. Did you speak to the design company guy? He would've put more perspective on it for you. This is still very early days yet and make your opinions known on the survey but I expect they'll be reading this thread so they'll hear of your expectations too. Cheers for the feedback Dinkum.
...but I do agree. Grass especially without sprinkler systems... waste of time!
those arn't the actual plans they're just a proposed layout plan so basicly it says 'street' stuff goes here 'tranny' stuff goes here etc. im sure there won't be a problem posting the plans when they are done.
