> FITZROY BOWL
Closed from the 4th of October for 3 weeks. Resurfacing, fixing holes, getting rid of the rubber shit and possibly extending some of the concrete.
this, would be awesome.. so sick of the weird mix of slippery and rough sections
I hope they don't fix too much..the imperfections make fitzy unique...there is enough perfect pak bowls around..
Exactly. Part of Fitzys charm are the imperfections, especially the shallow end coping!
if it aint broken, dont fix it. it may be a bit batterd here and there but certainly not broken!
Fix the holes in the concrete but I think they should leave the coping alone.
I heard from a reputable source that they are leaving the coping alone. Noice.
I don't get why they are not putting in a drinking tap, shade or seating? And decent bins? Ledge perhaps?
A jersey barrier integrated into the peanut would be awesome!
I wish the locals were consulted. There are a lot of people that spend many hours there a year and live nearby. We could share some easy cost effective ideas to improve the place without taking away what makes the place a melbourne favourite

jersey barrier would rock...
maybe to fakie,
i vote this idea
Rode past this morning. They were just working on the rubber and removing the fences/lurker bench. Not much progress.
Still reckon it could go either way. With the amount of paint that gets onto the bowl I fear an anti graff surface might be used.
I will have a chat to the guys next time when I have more time on my commute and try and find some more info
whilst I realise that no one in Fitzroy knows that the internet exists, is there any news on how this is going?
