Viva Prahran

Christopher. 20:07 04/Mar/13

There is no denying Ray shreds. Unfortunately you can't please everyone at these comps someones mate always "gets robbed".

At the end of the day the judges are told to pick "the best trick" not who skated hardest and landed the most tricks. It's hard to argue with a tre flip noseblunt....

There are plenty of Riverside comps where the money is divied up between all the shredders on the day but Viva is a big money contest. This is the reason we get to see the big named guys come down and kill it. It's at a professional level.

It has been thrown out there to have a "run style" contest at Prahran.

Would people prefer to see that?

Jam format heats. Best 10 go into a 15 minute best trick jam with each skater removing an item of clothing for each of the last 5 minutes.

It's better to have runs. Skateboarding is about shredding, style and consistency, not just hammers.

Plus a best trick comp too.

A kickflip K-grind on the hubba is arguably harder than down the rail. It's higher.
