Prediction is that all previously-purchased tickets will actually be given to Vans-wearing industry types who have never stepped on a board made of wood.
Furthermore no-one will be able to see any of the Drama anyway, so who cares.
If I was to make a proper prediction I would have to go off previous experiences. I've only been to Bowlarama twice and both times my Vans rep said there would be tickets waiting for me and both times they weren't there. Both times I spent most of the day at the pub, both times I had crusty old guys chew my ear off about Steve Cab and both times I left saying I'd never go back.
So my prediction is this..... Someone at Vans will tell me my name is on a list at the gate. They will look on their special list for a minute and tell me I'm not on it. I'll ask them to look again and the pretty lady with fake Ray Bans will pretend to look and say "sorry you're not on the list". I'll stand there until I see someone I know and they will get me in somehow while I curse the Vans employee under my breath. I'll sit in the stands for about an hour switching my attention between the skating and an Australian skateboarding figure (usually from Queensland or Melbourne) who managed to sneak in a bottle of Vodka and has already claimed the Bowlarama Drunkest Man Alive Award and it's only noon. I'll watch him get kicked out by a massive Islander security guard then turn to the person next to me and say "wanna go to the pub?". They won't hesitate in saying yes and we will wonder across the street where we will drink $8 schooners for the rest of the afternoon. At a certain point I will get stuck talking to some old guy wearing a Globe t-shirt telling me how rad Steve Cab is and how he saw him on the Bones Brigade tour in 89. I'll make my escape and tell my self that's my last Bowlarama.
BUT..... Cons is going this year and he's been on fire lately so I'm sure it will get very interesting......
Despite the whingy tone of my post both times I also had a pretty rad time and I hope everyone has a fun day.
