shutdown23 June 2013I hear you 4128 but isn't the main reason you dont cut out the middle man because you can get a wider distribution basis and ultimately make more money? There's not much room for charity in business. If someone can get a broader distribution by pumping their own ads online versus the value of getting decks placed in every skate shop in the country, then the good old 'skate shop' business model is flawed and will struggle to survive. It doesn't matter how loyal the wholesalers are, business is business. I just figure hedge your bets and buy gear from this website, it has a legit skate shop associated with it, its cheap, and its insanely fast / reliable for delivery. That aside, i'm not going through 3 decks a week on the dole where a $45 deck versus an $80 deck makes a huge difference so theres no way I can judge others for taking the cheaper / less ethical option.
imgne_24 June 2013The dude that runs the show doesn't really have any insight as to the little things that go into skate brands that make that big difference, for example, when they post boards out to customers is just the boards wrapped in butchers paper, no bubble wrap or anything sort of protection from damage via handling.
The comparison to nike was a bit of a laugh although I can see where your coming from, the thing is the 24 boards a pretty standard boards.. not to mention really thick in the layers, that to me screams "cheap chinese production"
